From blood pressure monitoring to 5G connectivity and a sleeker design, here’s everything we know so far about the Apple Watch Series 11 in 2025.
Can you believe it’s been ten years since the first Apple Watch launched? As we celebrate this milestone in 2025, the big question is: what’s next for Apple’s iconic smartwatch? From health breakthroughs to 5G tech, I’ve rounded up all the latest Apple Watch Series 11 rumors, leaks, and expectations. Let’s dive in!
Following Apple’s usual timeline, the Apple Watch Series 11 is expected to launch in September 2025, alongside the iPhone 17 lineup. Apple has consistently unveiled new Apple Watch models during its fall events, and 2025 should be no different.
While supply chain issues or tariffs could slightly impact the schedule, Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter suggests Apple is sticking to its “usual major announcements” for the second half of 2025 — practically confirming a September release.
When I slip on my Apple Watch, I love its sleek, familiar look—but will the Series 11 shake things up? Probably not dramatically.
According to Gurman, Series 11 will retain the slim, squared-off design introduced with Series 10, featuring thinner bezels and a sleeker body.
As for the display, I was rooting for a MicroLED upgrade (brighter, more power-efficient), but Ross Young reports MicroLED development delays, pushing it back to 2026.
Apple has not given up on Micro LED technology.

1. They are preparing Micro LED for AR glasses, with mass production expected in 2026.
2. The plan to include Micro LED in the Apple Watch Ultra is also still in place, with a target launch in 2026.
Instead, expect Series 11 to stick with the LTPO3 OLED panel from Series 10 — which already offers 40% better brightness at wide angles.
A slight consolation? Rumors hint at a new color option, possibly a sky blue to match the iPhone 17’s rumored lineup. Fingers crossed!
Leaks confirm the Apple Watch Series 11 will run on the new S11 SiP, but don’t expect a speed boost. It sticks to the same T8310 SoC with two “Sawtooth” CPU cores and 4-core Neural Engine, and second-generation Ultra Wideband as the S9/S10. That means the performance should feel familiar.
Instead, Apple seems to be focusing on efficiency and battery life, with a more compact design that could free space for bigger batteries or sensors. We can expect a more radical chip upgrade and watch redesign in 2026 for the S12 generation.
Apple’s first in-house C1 modem is paving the way for faster wireless connectivity. MacRumors hints that the Series 11 could use a MediaTek 5G RedCap modem, designed specifically for wearables.
Don’t expect blazing-fast phone-like 5G speeds, though. RedCap is a lightweight 5G version that balances faster speeds and better battery life — perfect for quick tasks without needing your iPhone nearby.
Bloomberg also reports satellite texting could be coming—but it might be exclusive to the Apple Watch Ultra 3 for now.
One of the most exciting Apple Watch Series 11 rumors? Blood pressure monitoring.
Mark Gurman suggests that 2025 could finally bring this long-awaited feature. However, early testing reveals it may not give exact medical-grade readings. Instead, expect trend alerts like high blood pressure warnings — nudging you to consult your doctor if needed.
Blood glucose monitoring still appears several years away, and the blood oxygen sensor may not return in U.S. models due to ongoing legal battles with Masimo.
Still, with ECG, fall detection, and rumored sleep apnea detection already on board, Series 11 remains a health powerhouse.
The Apple Watch Series 11 will debut with watchOS 12, first previewed at WWDC 2025 on June 9.
According to MacRumors, watchOS 12 may bring a visionOS-inspired redesign, offering translucent floating elements across the UI — from Home Screen buttons to updated menus and icons.
Though timelines for the full redesign are uncertain, the iOS 19 leaks suggest Apple is pushing hard for an overall aesthetic overhaul this year.
One of the most exciting additions could be an AI-powered health coach tied to iOS 19.4. Mark Gurman teases this feature will provide personalized workout suggestions and health advice based on your activity data.
While the Apple Watch Series 11’s 1 GB RAM may limit direct AI processing, expect on-device recommendations powered by your iPhone and Apple Intelligence.
Even a lightweight version of this health coach would be a game-changer for daily fitness motivation.
Curious about whether Apple Intelligence will fully land on your wrist? Not quite yet. Reports from AppleInsider suggest Series 11 could receive smarter Siri features and notification summaries, but heavy-duty AI tasks will still rely on the paired iPhone.
For full native AI on the Watch, Apple likely needs a major chip upgrade — possibly saving it for Series 12 or Ultra 3.
Still, any AI boost will be welcome for keeping your day organized and healthier.
Based on Apple’s past patterns, here’s what to expect:
Although tariffs could influence pricing, I’m betting Apple will absorb the cost to stay competitive against rivals like the Galaxy Watch 7.
Here’s what I hope Apple delivers in Series 11:
Looking beyond 2025, Apple Watch innovation could get wild:
While many ideas are still futuristic, they show Apple’s ambition for the smartwatch space.
The Apple Watch Series 11 looks poised to focus on health innovation, faster connectivity, and incremental design refinements. While missing out on MicroLED and native AI integration stings a bit, I’m excited for blood pressure tracking, 5G connectivity, and the debut of watchOS 12.
