TikTok Adds AI Content Control in For You Feed

TikTok adds new controls that let you adjust how much AI-generated content appears in your For You feed.

TikTok is rolling out a new feature to help users manage how much AI-generated content appears in their For You feed. The update, announced on November 19, 2025, introduces an AI-specific toggle that will soon appear in the “Manage Topics” section.

TikTok Lets You Adjust AI Content in your Feed

In the Manage Topics section, users can already fine-tune their interests in Dance, Fashion, and Sports. TikTok is adding a new slider labeled “AI.” The rollout is expected to begin in the coming weeks.

This toggle doesn’t let users completely block AI-generated videos. Instead, it helps balance how much of it appears in your feed. Like sports content? Slide up. Don’t want too many AI clips? Slide down. But either way, some AI content will still show up.

Think of it like tuning your feed for cooking or makeup content, you can dial it up or down, but not shut it off. The same rule applies to AI. TikTok says this gives users more personal control without removing content types entirely.

TikTok Adds Invisible Watermarking for AI Videos

In parallel, TikTok is also testing a backend feature to label AI videos more reliably: invisible watermarking. This watermark will stay embedded even if a video is downloaded, edited, or reuploaded to other platforms.

The invisible watermark will be applied to:

  • AI-generated content made with TikTok’s AI Editor Pro
  • Content uploaded with C2PA Content Credentials metadata

That means creators and reuploaders won’t be able to strip out the AI tag easily. It’s a technical step toward keeping AI disclosure intact across platforms.

Why This Move Matters

AI videos are everywhere now, from deepfake filters to voice-cloned skits. But not everyone wants them. TikTok’s move reflects rising demand for transparency and user control over what shows up in algorithm-driven feeds.

While you won’t be able to turn off AI content entirely, this update marks a step in that direction. Combined with invisible labeling, it shows TikTok is bracing for a future where AI content is everywhere.
