How to Set a Timer to Stop Music and Movies Automatically on iPhone or iPad

Ever wanted to get a super handy sleep timer on your iOS device? Follow along to set the sleep timer for music and movies on your iPhone or iPad so that your device will also go back to rest after the pre-defined time!

Soft and soothing music is what I listen to fall asleep whenever the night seems to have become too long. But before hitting the play button, I prefer to set a timer so that music stops playing after the preset time on my iPhone.

The stock Clock app for iOS comes with a hidden sleep timer, which you can use in many ways. For instance, you can take advantage of this feature to prevent your kid from watching videos beyond the stipulated time. It can also come in super handy in helping you take a break at the predefined time especially while watching hot Netflix shows.

One important thing worth noting is that you will have to go back and select a tone if you want to use the timer for other stuff like cooking or playing games. Else, your timer will be silent.

To get it done, open Clock app again → Timer tab → set the time → tap on When Timer Ends → Choose a tone → tap on Set at the top right → hit Start. Now, your timer will play sound as usual.

There you go!
