Snapchat is testing Creator Subscriptions, a new feature that lets fans pay for exclusive Stories, priority replies, and ad-free content from select creators starting February 23.
Snapchat has announced Creator Subscriptions, a new monetization feature that allows users to pay for exclusive content from their favorite creators. The company confirmed that the feature will begin testing in an alpha phase with a limited group of creators in the United States starting February 23.
The new offering aims to give creators a recurring revenue stream while enabling closer engagement with their most dedicated followers.
According to Snap’s official newsroom announcement, users will be able to subscribe to creators directly within the Snapchat app. Subscribers will gain access to several exclusive perks, including:
Creators will also have control over their monthly subscription pricing, though Snapchat plans to recommend pricing tiers to help guide creators during setup.
Snapchat says Creator Subscriptions are designed to complement its existing creator monetization ecosystem rather than replace it. The company already operates programs such as the Unified Monetization Program and Snap Star Collab Studio, which focus on ad revenue sharing and brand partnerships.
With subscriptions, creators can generate recurring income directly from fans instead of relying solely on advertising revenue or one-time collaborations.
In its blog post, Snap explained that the feature is intended to strengthen creator-fan relationships by offering more direct interaction and exclusive content experiences.

For now, Creator Subscriptions will remain limited to select creators in the U.S. during the testing phase. Snapchat plans to expand availability to Snap Stars in Canada, the United Kingdom, and France in the coming weeks before rolling out the feature more broadly.
The company added that access will expand gradually across creators, users, and devices as testing continues.
