A new leak suggests Apple may move the iPhone 17 Pro’s logo lower to make room for a redesigned camera bar—raising questions about MagSafe and accessory compatibility.
Imagine picking up your new iPhone 17 Pro and feeling something slightly off — the iconic Apple logo isn’t where it used to be. A fresh leak now suggests Apple is planning to move the logo again, sparking mixed reactions online.
Apple last moved its logo with the iPhone 11, placing it dead center to align better with the camera layout. Now, six years later, leaker Majin Bu claims Apple wants to move it even lower, toward the bottom center of the phone. If true, this would be the first logo reposition in years.
According to Majin Bu, who has a mixed but often accurate track record, the reason is the iPhone 17 Pro’s new camera design. Unlike the usual square or vertical setups, leaks suggest the phone will get a camera bar that stretches across the entire top of the back. Because of this, the logo can’t sit in the true center anymore. Instead, it will remain centered within the empty space below the camera bar. While it might look odd on paper, in-hand, this could feel clean and intentional.
Some users think it’s an unnecessary tweak, with jokes online saying it sounds like a kindergarten design idea rather than a decision from Apple’s top team.
Before the iPhone 11 launched, case manufacturers leaked the logo’s repositioning early since they had to design around it. The same situation seems to be happening here, adding credibility to this leak and showing Apple has a habit of such small but impactful changes.
One practical concern is MagSafe compatibility. MagSafe uses magnets aligned to the logo area for chargers and wallets. If the magnets move lower along with the logo, it could interfere with some existing accessories.
If they don’t move, case makers still face a challenge, as their designs often highlight the logo in the center. Now they have to design cases that keep the Apple logo visible while ensuring MagSafe works correctly.
Majin Bu shared photos showing case maker samples with this new lower logo placement. These images included transparent MagSafe cases with a cutout that aligns with the moved logo, ensuring it stays visible while still supporting MagSafe charging.
Right now, it’s still a leak with no official confirmation from Apple. But given the company’s past design decisions, a small tweak like this to accommodate a bigger camera redesign doesn’t sound too far-fetched.
We’ll have to wait and see if this logo move becomes real or fades away as just another rumor. Still, it shows how even the smallest design changes can ripple through the accessory industry and spark debates among iPhone fans.
Would this new logo position bother you, or do you see it as another quirky Apple design choice?
