iPhone 17 Pro Vapor Chamber: What the Leak Reveals

Apple may finally fix iPhone overheating with a vapor chamber cooling system in the iPhone 17 Pro. A new leak hints at major thermal upgrades coming in 2025.

Apple is finally ditching graphite sheets for better heat management on the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. According to known Apple leaker Majin Bu, these models will feature a vapor chamber cooling system similar to those in high-end Android phones such as Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra.

What Is a Vapor Chamber and Why Does It Matter?

Vapor chambers offer more efficient heat dissipation than the traditional graphite sheets currently used in iPhones. The system features a sealed metal chamber containing a small amount of liquid. When heated—during heavy gaming sessions, for example—the liquid vaporizes, spreads the heat across the system, and then condenses back into a liquid as it cools. This cycle repeats continuously, keeping the device cool by regulating temperature and preventing overheating.

In combination with Apple’s next-generation A19 Pro chip, vapor chamber cooling will allow the iPhone 17 Pro to deliver and maintain higher performance for longer periods.

Majin Bu’s Leak

Majin Bu, on his official website, shared a photo of what it claims to be a copper thermal plate meant for the iPhone 17 Pro’s vapor chamber setup. However, the leaker’s history is inconsistent; they correctly predicted iPadOS 26’s Mac-style menu bar but also incorrectly stated that iOS 26 would add Stage Manager to iPhones with USB-C ports.

What’s Next?

Although the shared image of the leaked components looks promising, there is no credible way to verify their authenticity at this stage. Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 series around September 2025, so we’ll have to wait for further leaks or the company’s announcement to know for sure. However, if the leak turns out to be true, it will be a huge win for buyers.
