Honey Sprite has finally landed in Fortnite, completing the lineup of community-made sprites scheduled to release this season. It is the fifth such sprite to roll out in Fortnite Override, following X-Ray Sprite, Onigiri Sprite, Pond Sprite, and Dumpster Dive Sprite. It is also the twenty-seventh unique sprite currently available in the game overall.
Created by Conejito_sam, Honey Sprite was one of the winning submissions in Fortnite’s Design A Sprite Concept Royale, which took place in June and July. It was pushed into the game in the October 15 update (v42.40), alongside the Obsession-inspired One Wish Willow Sprite and the Quack sprite variant.
You can learn about Honey Sprite’s abilities and the various ways to add it to your collection in the following guide.
What Honey Sprite does in Fortnite
When equipped, Honey Sprite grants you a rather peculiar ability. Staying true to its name, it offers a chance of a swarm of bees being unleashed on your enemy when you deal damage to them using a gun or any other ranged weapon.
This ability also comes into play if you fire at anything other than an enemy, with the bees emerging at the hit point.
As you upgrade this Epic-tier sprite through its levels, the likelihood of a bee swarm appearing near your target increases steadily, from 5% at level 1 to 10% at level 5. There are also five other Honey Sprite variants you can master in Fortnite, as laid out below.
Honey Sprite variants and their uses
Besides the base variant, the following variants of Honey Sprite exist in Fortnite. On top of the bee ability, each variant grants an additional benefit based on its type.
- Gold Honey Sprite: Gives three times more XP for eliminating an enemy.
- Cheat Master Honey Sprite: Lets you enter cheat codes by tapping the buttons in any order.
- Loot Hacker Honey Sprite: Increases the chances of items from your Loot Hacks appearing during a match.
- Bounty Hunter Honey Sprite: Gives you a chance to obtain a Sprite by eliminating an opponent. However, this variant earns XP only from eliminations.
- Trick or Treat Honey Sprite: Increases the chances of getting Halloween candy consumables from chests and other containers.
How to find Honey Sprite in Fortnite
1. Cheat codes
The best way to get your hands on Honey Sprite is by using cheat codes. Since it is a sprite of Epic rarity, you should aim to interact with pink and golden cheat codes, both of which usually offer Epic and higher-tier sprites.
In Fortnite Battle Royale, the most cheat code-dense areas are Heatwave Harbor, Cluster Coast and Sunken Shores, followed by Shaken Sanctuary. You can either visit these areas and scour them for the input consoles or use a Cheat Code Locator gizmo to mark a nearby cheat code. Those looking for this item can use one of the corresponding Fortnite Lobby Hacks to get it for free.
2. Pumpkin Chests
These are a special type of chest introduced in Fortnitemares 2026. Each one offers a sprite from the current roster, generally leaning towards the spooky-themed ones.
You can find multiple Pumpkin Chests in POIs such as Nightmare Neighborhood, Freaky Fields, Freddy Fazbear Pizzeria, Green Hill Zone, Shaken Sanctuary and Wonkeeland. It’s advisable to go through these locations while keeping an eye out for enemy players.
3. Rare Chests
If you have the Loot Hacker sprite equipped and the All Sprite Variants Loot Hack maxed out, you have a strong chance of getting sprites, including Honey Sprite, simply by opening chests, especially Rare Chests.
The places with the most of these blue-colored chests include Nightmare Neighborhood, Stone Sanctum, the Pac-Man islands, Cluster Coast, and the maze that lies northeast of Sunken Shores. These are some of the most highly contested hotspots on the Fortnite map, so it’s recommended to load up on ammunition before going there.
4. Get eliminations with the Bounty Hunter variant
Bounty Hunter sprites in Fortnite are very useful for growing your sprite collection, since they have a strong chance of providing a sprite when you eliminate an opponent. In other words, players who don’t want to be distracted by hunting for chests or cheat codes can rack up sprites as they go about their matches naturally.
5. Borrow and index it with the help of a friend
If you have a friend in Fortnite who already owns Honey Sprite, or can find someone willing to lend theirs temporarily, this is the easiest and most efficient way. The two of you just have to play a couple of matches together.
In the first match, ask your friend to let you take the sprite and extract with it to index it in your collection. In the second match, do the same thing in reverse and return the sprite to its original owner. Later, go to the Override tab, open the Sprites tab, and recall Honey Sprite from the list using Sprite Dust.

Rounding up
Honey Sprite is among the more intriguing sprites in Fortnite, since it gives players an entirely new threat to deploy on enemies. It is also the final missing piece of the community-made sprites puzzle that was first teased at the beginning of the season.
It will be interesting to see how players warm up to this sprite and how popular it becomes among the current crop of these critters.
