In the final weeks of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, the Quack Sprite variant has been brought back to the game after last appearing in the previous season, Runners. The v42.40 update on October 15 added five Quack Sprites alongside the new Honey and One Wish Willow Sprites, taking the total Sprite count in Fortnite Override to 162 different versions.
What separates the Quack Sprites from others is the exclusive way in which they need to be acquired. Unlike the various other Sprites, including original ones and those stemming from brand collabs, these Sprites can’t be obtained by any of the traditional methods, such as using cheat codes, opening chests, or even smashing the Pumpkin Chests that arrived with Fortnitemares.
Instead, each Quack Sprite requires you to master a certain number of Sprites in order to unlock it. Moreover, you only have until November 1 (Eastern Time) to tackle this challenge, as the Fortnite Override season ends on that day. Below, you can learn more about this Sprite variant itself and the different Sprite Mastery levels at which different Quack Sprites become claimable.
What Quack Sprites do in Fortnite?
Quack Sprites have a peculiar benefit in the sense that they don’t outright provide a gameplay boost or grant a unique ability. On the contrary, they do their work behind the scenes. According to Epic’s v42.40 update notes, whenever a Quack Sprite gains XP, every other Sprite you’re carrying gets extra Sprite XP as well. Community guides put that bonus at 50% of the XP the Quack Sprite earns.
That allows you to level up several Sprites at the same time in a single match, which makes a Quack Sprite most useful once you already have one and are pushing for the next mastery milestone.
All Quack Sprites in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4
There are five different Quack Sprites available in Fortnite Override, namely:
- Quack Jonesy Sprite
- Quack Adventure Sprite
- Quack Bush Sprite
- Quack Klombo Sprite
- Quack Spooky Dash Sprite
How to get Quack Sprite in Fortnite
As mentioned earlier, a particular Quack Sprite can only be unlocked by reaching a particular level of Sprite Mastery. Mastery corresponds to the number of Sprites that you level up to Level 5 through eliminations, opening chests, opening ammo boxes, and so on, and then successfully extract during a match.
You can either master a Sprite in one match itself, which would usually require you to go all the way and achieve a Victory Royale. Optionally, you can also level up a Sprite to an extent and extract it. Since these leveled-up Sprites retain their progress, you can continue where you left off in the next match, max the Sprite out, and extract the same eventually. Keep in mind that each Sprite counts only once toward your mastery total.
Here, you can check the number of Sprites that you would need to master in order to get any given Quack Sprite in Fortnite.
| Sprite | Sprite Mastery level required |
|---|---|
| Quack Jonesy Sprite | Master 40 sprites |
| Quack Bush Sprite | Master 45 sprites |
| Quack Adventure Sprite | Master 50 sprites |
| Quack Spooky Dash Sprite | Master 55 sprites |
| Quack Klombo Sprite | Master 60 sprites |
If you go further and master 70 Sprites, the same final Mastery page also rewards a new style for the Pixel Polli outfit.
Lastly, once you have reached the desired level, don’t forget to go to the Override tab and then the Mastery tab, from where you can easily claim the unlocked Quack Sprite.
How to reach the higher mastery levels faster
Since the Quack Jonesy Sprite unlocks first, it makes sense to equip it as soon as you claim it. Every match after that levels your other carried Sprites alongside it, which helps close the 20-Sprite gap between Quack Jonesy and Quack Klombo. Landing at loot-heavy spots, opening every chest and ammo box early, and extracting a Sprite as soon as it hits Level 5 also keep your progress safe.
How Season 4 Quack Sprites differ from Season 3
The Quack variant first arrived in Chapter 7 Season 3 with update v41.30 on July 30, 2026. Back then, it covered four different Sprites: Quack Water (35 mastered Sprites), Quack Earth (40), Quack Fire (45) and Quack Zero Point (55).
This season’s five Quack Sprites are built on different base Sprites and need up to 60 mastered Sprites, so they’re tracked separately from the Season 3 set.
How the Sprite pool has changed
Throughout Fortnite Override, Sprites have received a lot of interesting updates, ranging from brand-collab Sprites to community-made ones. The latest update from October 15 brought the One Wish Willow Sprite, the Honey Sprite and the Quack Sprites into the mix, which further populated and diversified the existing pool.
Given that this time it’s just two new Sprites and the return of an older variant from Fortnite Runners, some players may have found it not as exciting as they would have hoped.
However, the coupled rollout of the One Wish Willow Sprite and the Quack Sprites makes it a suitable time for those players pushing to complete and master their Sprite collection before a new Fortnite season kicks off. One Wish Willow lets you pull out an enemy’s equipped Sprites as soon as you eliminate them, while also knocking nearby enemies back when you take damage. The only catch is that removing it marks you on the map.
