Apple TV+ to Apple TV Rebrand Official: Finneas Debuts New Intro

Apple TV+ drops the “Plus” to become Apple TV, debuting a fresh intro and sound by Finneas that redefines its streaming identity.

Key Takeaways:

  • Apple TV+ officially rebranded to Apple TV across web, apps, and social media, simplifying its identity ahead of upcoming OS updates.
  • New animated intro and sound by Finneas now plays before all Apple Originals, with versions tailored for shows, trailers, and theaters.
  • Rebrand supports Apple’s unified media vision, moving away from the “Plus” label to streamline how users recognize its streaming service.
  • Finneas composed around pre-made visuals, crafting a sound that balances cinematic flair with Apple’s clean design philosophy.
  • Visual and audio changes may lag in apps, with updates expected in iOS 26.1, iPadOS 26.1, tvOS 26.1, and macOS Tahoe 26.1.

Apple has made it official: the streaming service once known as Apple TV+ is now simply Apple TV. This rebranding comes with a fresh intro video boasting a sound composed by Grammy winner Finneas.

Apple TV Rebrand Officially Rolls Out

Apple quietly implemented these changes across its website, social media channels, and app platforms. Where it once said Apple TV+, it now reads Apple TV. A short YouTube video titled “This is just the beginning” reveals a new animated logo featuring vibrant rainbow tones, paired with an audio signature crafted by Finneas.

This is just the beginning.

This new audio snippet will precede every Apple original film and series. In a chat with Variety, Finneas divulged there are three distinct versions of the sound. These include a five-second piece for TV shows, a one-second sting for trailers, and a 12-second version meant for theaters. His aim was to create something that felt both cinematic and magical, aligning with Apple’s sleek design sensibilities.

Finneas on Creating the Sound for Apple TV

Posting on Instagram, Finneas expressed his excitement over collaborating with Apple, acknowledging the importance of echoing what he appreciates about the brand—its creation of beautiful tools. He admitted that while the process was demanding, it was also highly rewarding, striving for a sound that balances simplicity with emotional depth.

According to David Taylor, Apple’s head of music, the sound Finneas delivered is “completely original and feels cinematic and magical.” Interestingly, the animation was completed before Finneas started composing, allowing him to shape the music around the visuals.

More Than a Name Change

This rebrand is more than just a facelift. In his discussion with Variety, Finneas noted that Apple aims to streamline its streaming identity, shedding the “Plus” to align with a broader strategy. While changes are gradually taking effect across Apple’s ecosystem, the Apple TV app still shows Apple TV+ at present. This is expected to transition with future software updates such as iOS 26.1, iPadOS 26.1, tvOS 26.1, and macOS Tahoe 26.1.

Pricing for Apple TV stands at $12.99 monthly, with its library offering popular series like Ted Lasso, Severance, The Morning Show, and Silo. With this new branding and distinct audio cue, Apple seems poised to embark on the next chapter of its storytelling venture.
