Apple has updated Apple Maps with detailed 3D representations of Formula 1 circuits ahead of the 2026 season, starting with the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park in Melbourne. The update arrives weeks before Apple begins its first season holding exclusive US streaming rights for Formula 1 on Apple TV.

The new experience is part of a “2026 Formula 1 Tracks Around the World” guide available within Apple Maps. The guide includes all 24 Grand Prix circuits on the 2026 calendar and will receive additional 3D enhancements throughout the season.

Albert Park Receives Expanded 3D Race Detail

At Albert Park, Apple Maps now displays a detailed circuit layout that includes all 14 turns, realistic kerbs, labeled grandstands, and footbridges. The map also features a 3D model of the Pit Building and other race-specific structures.

Users attending the race in person can view pop-up markers for entrance gates, restrooms, water stations, first aid locations, and merchandise stands. Apple Maps also provides walking directions to specific grandstands inside the venue.

Beyond the track itself, Apple has added 3D renderings of surrounding landmarks, including Lakeside Stadium, the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre, AAMI Park, Marvel Stadium, Rod Laver Arena, the Royal Exhibition Building, the Shrine of Remembrance, Eureka Tower, Luna Park, and St. Paul’s Cathedral.

More Tracks Gaining Custom 3D Models

The 2026 Formula 1 guide showcases circuits across the full calendar, with several already upgraded with new 3D objects. These include the Miami International Autodrome, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Circuit de Monaco, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the Red Bull Ring, and Silverstone.

At upgraded venues, Apple has added detailed paddock areas, stands, and surrounding structures rendered in the same style as its custom city landmarks. Some circuits have not yet received the enhanced models and currently appear with simplified or flat representations.

Apple says additional race locations will gain detailed elements as the season progresses.

F1 Integration Across Apple’s Services

The Apple Maps update is part of a broader Formula 1 integration across Apple’s ecosystem. Within the Apple TV Formula 1 channel, users can access the track guide alongside related content, including F1 programming, curated news coverage, podcast categories, App Store collections, and Fitness+ features.

Beginning with the 2026 season, Apple TV subscribers in the United States can stream all Formula 1 races at no additional charge. The Maps enhancements position each Grand Prix as both a navigational tool for attendees and a promotional surface within Apple’s services ecosystem.
