Apple’s shift away from titanium is unexpected, but it makes sense. Titanium is durable but expensive and heavy. Aluminum, on the other hand, is lighter, easier to manufacture at scale, and more cost-efficient. Pairing it with glass allows for MagSafe and Qi wireless charging, which metal alone would disrupt. This design also addresses durability concerns, heat management, and even weight, meaning the iPhone 17 Pro could feel lighter than the iPhone 15 Pro despite its larger size.

Another key change is the camera bump. Leaks suggest it will extend into a bar stretching across the full width of the phone’s back.
