Apple M5 iPad Pro Expected to Launch This Fall: What You Need to Know

Apple’s next iPad Pro may launch this fall with the powerful M5 chip, promising faster performance and better efficiency.

Apple’s next-generation iPad Pro, expected to launch this fall, could be the first Apple device to feature the blazing-fast M5 chip, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

The current iPad Pro, launched in May 2024, introduced a stunning OLED display and debuted the M4 chip. If Apple follows its typical release cycle, the upcoming refresh is expected to arrive approximately 17 to 18 months after the last update, aligning with the company’s pattern for Pro-level devices.

What to Expect from the 2025 iPad Pro

Unlike the 2024 model, which emphasized both design and performance, the 2025 iPad Pro will likely focus on internal enhancements. Apple is expected to retain the same slim chassis and OLED screen introduced last year, opting instead to upgrade the processor from M4 to M5.

The new M5 chip, built on TSMC’s enhanced 3-nanometer process, is expected to offer significant improvements in performance and energy efficiency. When combined with iPadOS 26—which brings even more Mac-like capabilities—the M5 will push the iPad Pro further into laptop territory. Tasks like 4K video editing, complex 3D rendering, and seamless multitasking should feel noticeably faster and smoother.

Could Apple Slim Down the Bezels?

Apple is reportedly developing a new display technology designed to reduce the size of the iPad’s bezels. While it’s uncertain if this enhancement will make it into the 2025 model, slimmer bezels could further modernize the iPad Pro’s already premium look.

iPad Pro 2025: Powerful but Familiar

Even if the external design and display remain unchanged, the internal upgrade could make a huge difference. The inclusion of the M5 chip alone is likely to attract creative professionals, developers, and power users looking for cutting-edge performance in a portable form factor.

With Apple continuing to blur the lines between iPad and Mac, the next iPad Pro might become the go-to device for users who demand performance without compromise.
