As the iPhone nears its 20th anniversary, Apple is reportedly preparing a bold lineup of futuristic products for a 2027 launch. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple’s roadmap includes a radically redesigned mostly-glass iPhone, foldable devices, AI-powered smart wearables, and even a home robot assistant.

A Dramatic iPhone Redesign in the Works

The biggest showstopper in 2027 could be a seamless, curved-glass iPhone—possibly Apple’s boldest hardware design yet.

Gurman reports that Apple is working on a “mostly glass, curved iPhone” with no visible display cutouts, potentially enabled by under-display front camera tech. This lines up with a report from The Information, which confirmed that at least one iPhone model in 2027 will include such technology.

This isn’t entirely out of the blue. Apple previously filed a patent in 2019 for a device fully encased in curved glass, and recent Pro models have already embraced premium glass materials. In 2027, Apple appears ready to push the glass design to its futuristic extreme.

Foldable iPhone and Smart Glasses Could Arrive in 2027

The all-glass iPhone may not be the only head-turner. Gurman reiterates that Apple is also on track to release its first-ever foldable iPhone, possibly alongside the camera-equipped smart glasses meant to rival Meta’s Ray-Ban Stories.

These smart glasses are expected to focus on photo and video capture with lightweight frames, rather than full AR. Apple is also reportedly designing a low-power chip specifically for the glasses, with a production target around 2026–2027.

Expanding beyond glasses, Apple is rumored to be working on camera-enabled versions of both the Apple Watch and AirPods.

Gurman says the concept includes a tabletop robot with an AI personality, inspired by a previous in-house robotic desk lamp project. The robot may feature a movable head or limbs with lifelike responses—similar to Pixar-style animated characters.

This project would mark Apple’s first foray into robotics for the home, directly competing with Amazon Astro and other AI-based home companions.

Siri has long lagged behind Alexa, Google Assistant, and now ChatGPT—but that may finally change.

Apple is reportedly developing a large language model (LLM)-powered version of Siri, with a far more conversational and context-aware experience. This new version would likely debut in 2027, powered by custom server-side AI chips designed by Apple’s Israel-based silicon team—the same group behind Apple Silicon.

This could mark the first serious leap in voice assistant capabilities for Apple in over a decade.
