The Sir Wyvern sidekick has quickly become one of the most popular cosmetics in Fortnite’s Item Shop. At the time of writing, the dragon sidekick is on the “Today’s Best Sellers” list, which puts it in the bracket of the most in-demand items available for purchase in the game.

Since their introduction in November 2025, sidekicks have increasingly won the favor of Fortnite players. These creatures have not only brought another element of fun to the game’s presentation but also allowed players to take some of the most beloved pop culture characters, such as Patrick Star from SpongeBob SquarePants, along with them in their Fortnite adventures. The arrival of Sir Wyvern added another intriguing character to the mix.

In the Item Shop, Sir Wyvern is currently available to purchase for 1,200 V-Bucks. It will be up for grabs for a limited time, until August 8, 2026, by 5 PM PT or 8 PM ET. Mentioned below are the steps you can use to claim this sidekick.

Apart from Sir Wyvern, there are a few more monster-like sidekicks for players to choose from in Fortnite’s in-game store. They are Lil’ Raptor and Wind-a-saurus, both of which are worth 1,200 V-Bucks each.

Wrapping up

While sidekicks do not have any gameplay relevance in Fortnite, their cosmetic value for players can’t be denied based on how well Sir Wyvern seems to be performing in terms of sales right now. As a result, for Epic Games, it becomes imperative to keep adding more sidekicks and maintaining good variety in this category to ensure continued success.

Besides original characters such as Sir Wyvern, Bobomi, and Cupid Kitty, it could work well in Fortnite’s favor to introduce more major IP-related sidekick characters in the future. So far, SpongeBob SquarePants, Towelie from South Park, and DC’s Ace The Bat-Hound are some notable sidekicks that have already made their way into the game.

It will be interesting to see which renowned characters Fortnite incorporates into its sidekick catalog next. At the same time, Epic’s original sidekick designs could also complement the experience and offer a good balance on this front. Regardless, it appears that sidekicks have been welcomed by players with open arms thus far, which certainly bodes well for the cosmetic feature’s longevity.
