Since its release in May, as part of a major collab between Fortnite and Star Wars, the Star Wars Droid Tycoon map has received significantly positive reception from fans and continues to attract a sizable audience compared to other third-party Fortnite maps. Then, in August, its developer FOAD rolled out a new update that threw droid fusion into the mix, which essentially introduced new droids for players to add to their collection.
Since then, players have been trying different combos and learning about which ‘recipe’ works for generating which kind of droid. While it may seem like a mostly hit-and-trial process, there are actually fixed recipes out in the community that provide a specific droid when put into action. All such fusion recipes are shared later in this article.
How Droid Fusion works in Star Wars Droid Tycoon
The fusion feature in Star Wars Droid Tycoon involves combining three different droids to either obtain a variant of a higher rarity or a new droid itself. It goes without saying that the droids used to construct a new one will be permanently lost.
This gameplay mechanic is only accessible to players who have reached Rebirth 3 on the progression chart, which is quite convenient to reach. This Rebirth level requires a player to have 975K credits along with base A-LT, base B-U4D, and gold R9 droids. Eligible players can take part in droid fusion by visiting the Fusion Lab, which is sandwiched between the landing zone of your base and the workshop location.

Wrapping up
In its heyday, Star Wars Droid Tycoon used to pull tens of thousands of concurrent Fortnite players daily. While that has now dropped to around 20K peak concurrent players in a day, the game is still on the higher side on the list of Fortnite UEFN maps that get the most user engagement.
In fact, the game’s popularity has enabled FOAD to ship regular updates so far, including one from last month that optimized the experience for mobile users. This should naturally rope in more players and give some boost to the footfall that this Fortnite map gets. However, only time will tell if the newly gained audience stays over the long term.
