Steve Jobs will be featured on a 2026 U.S. Mint $1 coin honoring California in the American Innovation series. Here’s how to get it.
Steve Jobs will be featured on the 2026 American Innovation $1 coin collection representing California, which will also include the inspiring inscription, “Make Something Wonderful.”
Apple’s influence on Silicon Valley and the tech industry is immense, and Jobs’ story embodies the classic American dream. The U.S. Mint is celebrating his legacy once again through this special coin.
Revealed alongside Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota designs, the California coin shows Jobs in front of oak-covered hills. It is designed by Elana Hagler and sculpted by Phebe Hemphill. The edge of the coin reads “Steve Jobs” and ‘Make Something Wonderful.”
The American Innovation series, launched in 2018, honors pioneering individuals and groups from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories.
Jobs’ journey from being adopted, launching a company in a garage, facing setbacks, and returning to lead Apple to global prominence makes him an ideal choice to represent California.
Collectors will be able to purchase the coins from the U.S. Mint upon release. A set including the Steve Jobs coin and the other new coins will cost around $30, while a roll of 25 Steve Jobs coins will cost $36.25.
Steve Jobs’ legacy is now immortalized in a coin. What’s your reaction? Share it in the comments.
