Spotify has announced a range of new features focused on AI-generated music tools, fan-made remixes, and concert ticket reservations as part of its Investor Day 2026 announcements.
The company says upcoming updates will include AI-powered remix and cover creation tools for music fans, alongside a new concert ticket feature called Reserved for Premium subscribers.
Spotify is bringing AI-generated remixes and fan-made covers
Spotify has signed new licensing agreements with Universal Music Group that will allow fans to create AI-generated covers and remixes using licensed music.
The feature will let fans create remixes and alternate versions of songs from participating artists and songwriters directly inside Spotify.
The company says the system is designed to create a way for artists and rights holders to earn from AI-generated remixes tied to their music. Spotify plans to offer the AI remix and fan-made cover tools as a paid add-on for Premium subscribers.
This expands Spotify’s AI strategy beyond recommendations and discovery into actual music creation.
Spotify also wants to make concert ticket buying easier
Spotify also introduced a new feature called Reserved, which will temporarily hold concert tickets for eligible Premium users in the United States.
Reserved is aimed at dedicated fans rather than casual ticket buyers or scalpers. Eligibility will reportedly depend on listening history and artist engagement inside Spotify.
According to Spotify, some users may be able to reserve up to two tickets before they become publicly available.

The company hasn’t shared complete details about how Reserved will work in practice, though Spotify says more information will be available closer to launch.
Spotify also announced additional podcast and audiobook updates during Investor Day 2026, though the company has not fully detailed those features yet.
Together, the updates show Spotify moving beyond passive music streaming toward a platform where listening, creation, and live events are becoming more connected.
