Apple has raised the U.S. out-of-warranty battery service fee for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max to $129. The new figure appears in Apple’s iPhone repair price table, up $10 from the $119 fee for the iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The battery fee is the same for both Pro models
Apple lists the following U.S. out-of-warranty service estimates for the new Pro iPhones:

The battery is the only repair in the table that costs the same on both models. Apple says it will inspect the device before confirming the final service fee. Taxes may apply, mail-in service may add a shipping charge, and Apple Authorized Service Providers can set their own prices.
The increase follows last year’s iPhone 17 repair pricing, which listed a $119 battery replacement for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Apple had kept that fee unchanged from the iPhone 16 Pro generation.
Apple has not explained the $10 increase
Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro models use updated battery designs, and the company rates the U.S. eSIM-only versions for up to 36 hours of video playback on the iPhone 18 Pro and 45 hours on the Pro Max. Apple has not said whether the new battery designs, parts, or service process are behind the higher replacement fee.

That distinction matters because the $129 price is a service estimate, not a published explanation of Apple’s repair costs. It also applies to the U.S. table. Repair prices and taxes can differ in other countries.
AppleCare+ can remove the battery fee
Apple says battery service is included at no extra charge for an AppleCare plan when the battery’s capacity drops below 80%. Normal battery wear is not covered by Apple’s standard limited warranty, so owners without qualifying coverage will see the out-of-warranty price instead.
