GIFs are always in demand when it comes to bringing loads of fun into communication. They have become indispensable for me as I can’t help unleashing them on Twitter as they instantly create huge sensation. To never let my ever-growing library run out of options, I make sure to save those hilarious clips whenever my eyes have an interface with them. Though there is no official way, you can overcome the roadblock to download GIFs from Twitter on your iPhone, Android, and computer.

First and foremost, you have to download GIFwrapped on your iOS device. The app works pretty well in letting you download GIFs from the micro-blogging app.

It’s available for free and requires iOS 9 or later. Besides, it also has an iMessage app to let you spice up your messaging time with fun-loving GIFs.

Step #1. Launch the Twitter app on your iOS device and then head over to the GIF you wish to download.

Step #2. Now, tap on the tiny downward arrow button and select “Share Tweet via…”

Step #3. Next, tap on “Copy link to Tweet.”

Now, you will get the confirmation that the link to tweet has been copied to the clipboard.

Step #4.  Open GIFwrapped on your iOS device. Then, tap on the search tab and select the “Use the Clipboard” option.

Step #5. Up next, you should see the GIF file.

Tap on the file and select Share button at the top right corner. Now, a menu will appear with multiple options, tap on “Save to Library.”

Step #6. Now, tap on the Library tab and select the video you have just saved. Then, tap on the Share button again.

Next, tap on Save to Files → Select the folder and tap on Add at the top right to confirm.

That’s done! Now, whenever you wish to play that GIF, open Files app → head over to the folder where you have saved it and then play it.

How to Save GIFs from Twitter on Android

There are quite a few apps that let you save GIFs from Twitter on your Android device. But the one that has impressed me a lot is Tweet2gif. The app is compatible with Android 4.0.3 and later. Besides, you can get it for free. Download it now to go ahead with the process!

Step #1. Open the Twitter app on your Android device.

Step #2. Now, find the GIF you want to save. Then, tap on the tiny arrow at the top right corner of the tweet and select “Copy Link to Tweet.”

Step #3. Next, launch Tweet2Gif and tap on “Paste.”

Step #4. Next up, tap on “Download.” You have the option to download it either as a GIF file or as the MP4 video file. I’m going to save it as GIF. Now, open your Google Photos to access the saved GIF.

How to Save GIFs from Twitter on Computer

Saving GIFs from Twitter is not as simple on the computer as it’s on the mobile device. There is a site called GZGIF.com that allows you to download Twitter GIFs as videos on your computer.

Step #1. Open any web browser and open Twitter.

Step #2. Now, go to the GIF you wish to download and then click on the downward arrow at the top right.

Step #3. Next, you need to select “Copy the link to Tweet.”

Step #4. Next up, head over to https://ezgif.com/optimize and then paste the tweet link in the “Paste Image URL” field. Up next, click Upload.

Step #5. Now, the video will be downloaded into the mp4 video.

You have multiple options for adjusting frame rate or size of the video. Click on Save button to save the video on your computer.
