Fortnite recently rolled out its v42.10 update, headlined by a new lineup of sprites including the fan-made Onigiri Sprite and X-Ray Sprite. Besides that, another major part of the update is a new set of loot hacks, which include highly powerful weapons and other items.
Loot hacks were introduced in Fortnite on August 20, with the launch of Chapter 7 Season 4: Override. This feature enabled players to somewhat customize the kind of items they get from chests, given they first collect enough Sprite Dust to influence the loot—providing more incentive to partake in sprite-hunting.
The following article lists the new loot hacks made available in last week’s update. It also explains how you can find and use them more often during matches across Fortnite.
New loot hacks and what they do in Fortnite Override
1. Loot Hacker Sprite Variant
You can obtain sprites of the Loot Hacker variant and equip them to boost your chances of getting items from your unlocked loot hack when you open chests. In short, this loot hack item is a boost you can apply to get the other loot hack items quicker in a match.
2. Wrecker Revolver
Damage: Very high
Range: Long
Rate of fire: Slow
3. Deadeye Assault Rifle
Damage: Low
Range: Medium, long
Rate of fire: Medium

4. Holo Twister Assault Rifle
Damage: Low-to-medium
Range: Short, medium, long
Rate of fire: Medium
5. Scorpion’s Kombat Kit
This is a special item inspired by Mortal Kombat’s Scorpion. While equipped, you can deal serious damage through hand-to-hand combat. Alternatively, you can use the spear to deal damage and simultaneously pull an enemy closer.
6. Caduceus Staff
The Caduceus Staff helps you restore your health and has the capacity of adding the same up to a value of 300. Besides that, you can also aim it at a squad member, even over long distances, to revive him, increase his health, or provide a temporary buff to the damage he inflicts.
How to find and use Fortnite Override loot hacks
All the aforementioned loot hack items in Fortnite Override first need to be unlocked using Sprite Dust before you can get your hands on them. You can do so by following the steps below.
- In Fortnite, go to the Override tab.
- Then, select the desired loot hack item and press and hold the Unlock button to add it to your loot pool.
Once any of these loot hacks have been acquired, you can exclusively find them by opening chests during a match in Unranked Battle Royale, Fortnite Reload, or Fortnite Creative. For boosting your chances of obtaining these items more easily, you can further level up your desired ones by using the “Upgrade” button in the loot hack tab shown above, in exchange for more Sprite Dust.
Besides shooting up the probability of getting loot hack items from chests, you can also unlock new rarity tiers for them at certain points. These upgrades make a crucial difference because the loot hack item’s power increases with each increase in rarity, with the “Legendary” level obviously offering the best version of it.
There are six different upgrade levels for each loot hack. Here’s what happens at each level for each item.
Loot Hacker Sprite Variant

- Level 2: 7% drop rate via chests
- Level 3: 9% drop rate via chests
- Level 4: 11% drop rate via chests
- Level 5: 13% drop rate via chests

- Level 3: Epic rarity
- Level 4: 8% drop rate via chests

To unlock all levels for all these items, it costs several thousand Sprite Dust. So, it is imperative to extract as many high-tier sprites during matches as you can to accrue enough of this in-game commodity. You can also get more Sprite Dust by using certain Fortnite lobby hacks, such as “Magilume”, “Chispambo”, “H0p0nVC”, among others, granted you haven’t already used these codes.

Each of the loot hack items mentioned above is useful when you get it during a Fortnite match. However, certain ones are more OP and offer you the edge over those who don’t have them yet at any point during a match.
In my experience, one of the first things you should do is unlock the Loot Hacker Sprite variant. Once you extract a sprite of that type, make sure to equip it before each match where you want to make the most of your unlocked loot pool.
Among the best weapons in the current loot hack set are the Wrecker Revolver and the Caduceus Staff. While the former is a terrific choice for offense, the latter is quite a useful health item, and its high capacity to heal makes sure you can go a large part of the match relying on just this one healing item.
After these two, the Holo Twister Assault Rifle is another fun and effective tool for those who prefer striking enemies from afar, thanks to its scope. However, the same attachment can prove to be detrimental to your aim in close-range fights, so ensure you switch to another weapon when the enemy is at a close distance.
These loot hack items have quickly become a prevalent part of Fortnite matches, despite being released just around a week ago. Hence, it helps massively to unlock all of them and upgrade them to the highest level to take the upper hand in eligible online matches.
