WhatsApp Now Officially Supports Two Accounts on One iPhone
WhatsApp is testing a new feature that lets you add and switch between two accounts within the same app.

If you have two phone numbers and always wished you could use both WhatsApp accounts on your iPhone without extra apps, your wait is almost over. WhatsApp is testing a new feature that lets you add and switch between two accounts within the same app – just like Android users have enjoyed for years.
This means no more juggling WhatsApp Business or shady third-party apps. Here’s everything you need to know about how it works and what’s coming soon.
How to Set Up Second WhatsApp Account on Your iPhone?
WhatsApp’s latest beta for iOS (versions v25.9.10.70 and v25.19.10.74) shows a multi-account feature in testing. This new multi-account feature was first spotted by WABetaInfo. With this, you’ll be able to:
- Add a second account directly in the app using your other phone number.
- Or link an existing account by scanning a QR code from your primary device, turning it into a companion account synced with your main one.
Each account will remain completely separate. You’ll get different chat histories, settings, backups, notification tones, and even different profile pictures. So, your work messages won’t mix with personal chats.
A small but powerful touch – notifications will now tell you which account received the message. If someone texts your secondary account, tapping the notification will instantly switch to that account and open the chat, avoiding embarrassing mix-ups.
This update feels especially perfect for iPhone users with dual SIM or eSIM support. If you have an iPhone XR or newer, you can easily set up two numbers on the same device and now finally use WhatsApp on both without any tricks.
Is Dual WhatsApp for iPhone Finally Here?
The feature is still under development and only available in the beta version via Apple’s TestFlight program. Even there, it’s not fully rolled out yet. But since it’s actively tested, the public rollout is expected in the next few months.
Meta is trying to bring WhatsApp closer to Instagram’s seamless multi-account experience. With remote work and busy personal lives, this small update could make a huge difference in how we manage our chats every day.
So, if you’re tired of logging out, switching apps, or using WhatsApp Business just for a second number, stay tuned. Soon, managing two WhatsApp accounts on your iPhone will be as easy as switching between your Insta profiles.
