What’s new with watchOS 27 beta 3

Apple has released watchOS 27 beta 3 to developers, and unlike the first two beta releases, this update finally enables some of the biggest Apple Watch features announced at WWDC 2026. The headline addition is Siri AI, which is now available for testing on supported Apple Watch models for the first time. Apple also released iOS 27 beta 3 alongside the update, bringing Siri voice customization, Live Recognition, and several other improvements to the iPhone.

Here’s everything new in watchOS 27 beta 3.

Siri AI comes to Apple Watch

The biggest addition in watchOS 27 beta 3 is Siri AI.

The upgraded assistant understands more natural language, supports follow-up questions, and uses Apple Intelligence to deliver responses based on your personal context, making interactions feel more conversational than before.

New dedicated Siri App

watchOS 27 beta 3 also introduces a standalone Siri app on Apple Watch.

Instead of relying solely on voice activation or the Digital Crown, users can now launch Siri directly from the app and revisit previous conversations in one place.

The dedicated app makes interacting with Siri faster and more convenient, especially for users who frequently rely on Apple Intelligence throughout the day.

Siri AI comes to the Dynamic App Grid

Apple has also integrated Siri into the Dynamic App Grid.

When available, the Siri app automatically occupies the center position in the grid, making it easier to access.

The surrounding apps continue to rearrange themselves based on your usage patterns, ensuring your most frequently used apps remain within easy reach.

Siri AI requirements

Although Siri AI is now available on Apple Watch, it still depends on Apple Intelligence.

To use the new Siri experience, you’ll need:

  • A compatible Apple Watch running watchOS 27
  • An iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or any newer Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhone

Older Apple Watch models that support watchOS 27 can still install the update, but Siri AI will remain unavailable if the paired iPhone does not support Apple Intelligence.

Bug fixes and performance improvements

Alongside the new Siri features, watchOS 27 beta 3 also includes the usual collection of bug fixes, stability improvements, and performance optimizations as Apple continues preparing the software for its public beta and final release later this year.

Existing watchOS 27 features

Beta 3 continues testing the major features introduced in earlier watchOS 27 betas, including:

  • Workout Buddy enhancements
  • Smart Stack improvements
  • Updated health and fitness features
  • System-wide interface refinements

watchOS 27 beta 3 is available now to registered developers. Apple is expected to release the first public beta later this month, with the final version arriving alongside the new Apple Watch lineup this September.
