Not-so-surprisingly, there are far fewer options when it comes to an iPad car stand (as compared to iPhone car mounts). Yet, an iPad comes in very handy for GPS, for music and for a variety of other things that you might want to use in-car.

When you’re using your iPad in-car, even if it’s just for direction, you’ll need an iPad car mount. While Universal car mounts for tablets can be had for any cheap price, it’s a little harder to find a good-quality accessory. We’ve tried to sift through available options here.

Best iPad Car Mounts and Stands

Best iPad Car Mounts/Stands for iPad Air, Mini, and Older iPads

#1. iOttie Car Mount for iPad Mini

iOttie Car Mount for iPad Mini
iOttie stands right on top of a paltry lineup of iPad car mounts. But it’s one of the finest mounts you’ll get. It’s designed for iPad Mini (and other 7” tablets). The suction pad sticks to soft surfaces (dashboards and windscreen). You might have to remove the case of your iPad Mini (but the spec says you can remove the spacers from the bottom to fit an iPad mini with its case on). A one-touch mounting system has the promise of an easy-to-use car mount.

#2. SQDeal iPad Mini/ iPad 4, 3, 2, 1

SQDeal Car Stand for iPad Mini and iPad 4, 3, 2, 1

On Amazon, SQDeal has mixed reviews. A majority of the reviewers say the product is good for the cheap price tag (it sells for around $11) but isn’t a great one. The SQDeal Universal Car Mount for iPads will fit only on glass. It’s not a dashboard car mount, but you will need to fit this on the windscreen. The suction base, apparently, works pretty good.

One interesting thing about the holder is that it fits any iPad tablet ranging from Air and mini to all older versions. For a cheap price tag as this, the car mount does comes across as a good buy.

#3. LotFancy Windshield iPad Car Holder

LotFancy Windshield iPad Car Holder

LotFancy is probably the cheapest car mount you’ll ever see. And for a standard universal mount, it fits pretty well (both the budget and the iPad). The standard-issue iPad car mount is compatible with all large iPads and the iPad minis. Unlike the previous one, the LotFancy stand can be mounted on dashboard, is quite adjustable and supremely user-friendly. It’s kind of clutter-free in many ways.

#4. Satechi SCH-121 Tablet Holder

Satechi SCH-121 Tablet iPad Stand

Satechi’s car holder for smartphones and tablets is a wildly popular car mount used by a lot of people. This one, again, is a universal car mount/holder, that specifically fits your iPad and iPad mini. The mount actually comes with two cradles: one for smartphones and one for tablets. The screw-type mount has an extendable base which adds more support/balance to the base. With an easy-to-adjust frame and angle, this can be your one-accessory-for-all type of a car mount if you have both an iPhone and an iPad.

$5. iKross 2-in-1 iPad and iPad Mini Car Holder

iKross 2-in-1 iPad and iPad Mini Car Holder

iKross 2-in-1 Stand is a tiny but highly-functional smartphone and tablet holder for in-car use. It’s actually a universal cup mount holder that you can anywhere – specifically in the car. The car mount fits iPhones but it also fits iPad Mini and the larger iPad with its adjustable holder.
