iPhone 17 Pro Leak Reveals Major MagSafe Redesign and Relocated Logo

The new MagSafe design is reportedly being introduced to accommodate the large camera bump on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models.

Apart from relocating the Apple logo, the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max may also feature a subtly revised MagSafe magnet layout, according to a new leak. While these changes are purely aesthetic, they could signal a more refined design approach in the next-generation iPhones, given the new massive camera layout.

Open MagSafe Ring Revealed in Leaked Photo

Leakster Majin Bu recently shared a photo of what appears to be the new MagSafe array for third-party iPhone 17 Pro cases. Unlike the complete ring found on previous iPhones, the redesigned array features an open ring. This is the first significant visual change to the MagSafe layout since its introduction with the iPhone 12.

Apple Logo to Move Lower Due to Larger Camera Bump

The new MagSafe design is reportedly being introduced to accommodate the large camera bump on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models. According to Majin Bu and fellow leaker Sonny Dickson, Apple is also adjusting the position of the Apple logo slightly, so it remains visible through MagSafe-compatible cases, many of which feature a cutout aligned with the logo.

Existing MagSafe Accessories Still Compatible

Despite the design changes, sources within the iPhone case manufacturing industry confirm that all existing MagSafe accessories, such as wallets, chargers, and mounts, will continue to work with the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models.

Faster MagSafe Charging May Also Be in the Works

Besides the redesign, rumors also suggest that the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro may support slightly faster MagSafe charging speeds, possibly enabled by an updated version of Apple’s official MagSafe Charger. While there’s no solid evidence to support such rumors, it would be a win-win situation for users if it turns out to be true.

Launch Expected in September

While the Cupertino tech giant, like always, hasn’t commented on the leaks, it is expected to reveal the iPhone 17 lineup in September this year.
