How to Change Default Password AutoFill Provider in iOS 12 on iPhone and iPad

Who likes to remember tons of passwords? No one. Agreed? That’s why many of us have been using the best iPhone password managers to take the desired control over the secret codes. What could be music to many ears, Apple now allows iPhone and iPad users to change the default password autofill provider in iOS 12.

That means if you don’t find the “iCloud-Keychain” living up to your demand, you can set popular third-party password managers like 1Password and LastPass as your default autofill provider on your iPhone.

How to Change Default Password AutoFill App in iOS 12 to Use Third-Party Apps

Step #1. Assuming you’ve already installed your favorite iPhone password manager and ideally set it up. Launch Settings app on your iOS device.

Under Allow Filling From, you should see the compatible third-party password manager installed on your device.

Select your preferred app. You may be asked to enter your master password to authenticate. Do it and you are done. If you no longer want to use “iCloud Keychain”, deselect it.
