In Fortnite’s new One Piece-styled mini-season, titled Treasure Hunters, chests play a very pivotal role. Besides an entire POI featuring a giant chest and being literally named “The Chest,” their importance is consolidated by the fact that the chest pool items are essentially the replacement for loot hack items from Chapter 7 Season 4, aka Fortnite Override.
For those unaware, loot hacks in the previous season were a pool of special weapons or items that had a chance of spawning from chests. These loot hack items would change every other week, bringing a fresh pool of options. The new chest rewards pool in Treasure Hunters is more of the same but with a couple of key differences.
Unlike Fortnite Override’s loot hacks that needed to be unlocked using V-Bucks first and whose spawn rate could be boosted by spending more V-Bucks, Fortnite Treasure Hunters’ chest rewards need no unlocking and can’t be tweaked in terms of how often a particular reward appears. Moreover, instead of being refreshed every second week, the latter are scheduled to be rotated out and replaced with new items weekly.
Speaking of weekly rotation, you can check out which items are currently active in the rewards pool and which may get introduced next. Further below, you can peruse the schedule according to which these updates are planned to roll out.

How Treasure Chest rewards feature changes Fortnite
Treasure Hunters’ chest rewards offer a rotating selection of items without requiring players to unlock the pool or spend Sprite Dust to access it. That leaves players free to use Sprite Dust for other activities, such as restoring lost sprites before a match or purchasing a gizmo from an Extraction Site.
One of the most notable reported rewards is Pirate Shop Access, which could give players a way to obtain Item Shop cosmetics without spending V-Bucks. However, the draft does not establish whether this reward is guaranteed, how often it appears, or whether its drop rate can change. Check official announcements for any updates to its availability.
