Apple has increased the price of AppleCare+ subscription plans for Macs and iPads in the United States, according to Bloomberg.
Monthly subscriptions now cost $0.50 more, while annual plans have increased by $5 for new customers.
Existing subscribers keep their current pricing
The price increase applies only to new AppleCare+ subscriptions purchased for Macs and iPads. If you’re already subscribed to AppleCare+ for one of those devices, Apple will continue charging your current monthly or annual rate.
The change comes shortly after Apple raised prices across its Mac and iPad lineup. Earlier this month, the company attributed those hardware price increases to rising memory and storage costs, with some products becoming $100 to $1,300 more expensive.
Apple has not said whether the AppleCare+ price increase is related to the recent hardware price hikes, although Bloomberg notes that the two changes occurred within a short period.
AppleCare One pricing remains unchanged
While AppleCare+ has become more expensive for Macs and iPads, AppleCare One remains unchanged.
Introduced last year, AppleCare One still costs $19.99 per month and covers up to three Apple devices. Customers can also add eligible devices for $5.99 per month each.
This isn’t Apple’s first AppleCare+ price increase in recent years.
The company raised monthly AppleCare+ pricing for iPhones by $0.50 in early 2025, and Bloomberg reports that another increase could arrive alongside the next iPhone lineup later this year.
Anyone planning to purchase a new Mac or iPad will now face higher overall ownership costs, as both the devices themselves and their optional AppleCare+ coverage have become more expensive.
