Screen protectors said to be cut for Apple’s rumored foldable “iPhone Ultra” have surfaced with square corners on one edge and rounded corners on the other. Leaker Ice Universe shared photos and a short hands-on video of the protectors on X, offering a closer look at the possible front design of Apple’s first foldable.

The screen itself is not lopsided

Ice Universe first claimed the phone “actually has an irregular screen with one side square and the other round,” but walked that back in a follow-up post. The protector covers the entire glass front panel, not just the display area, which is why its corners don’t match.

The square edge sits on the hinge side of the foldable. The display underneath is still expected to be a normal symmetrical rounded rectangle with even bezels all around, so the finished phone shouldn’t look strange from the front.

The selfie camera moves to the corner

The protector has a single punch-hole cutout near the top-right corner instead of Apple’s usual top-center placement. That fits earlier reports that the foldable drops Face ID for a Touch ID side button, which lets Apple get away with one small camera hole instead of a wider cutout.

The protector’s proportions also back up the shorter, wider cover screen seen on the iPhone Ultra dummy unit that leaked earlier this year. Rumors point to a cover display of around 5.5 inches, with a 7.8-inch inner screen when the phone is open.

The leak fits Apple’s expected September timing

Retail-style screen protectors suggest accessory makers may already be working from leaked dimensions, although they don’t prove the phone’s final design. Apple is expected to announce the foldable alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup in mid-September. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes pre-orders could slip to October or later because of manufacturing constraints, with a price somewhere between $2,299 and $2,499.

None of this is confirmed until Apple shows the phone, and even the “iPhone Ultra” name is still a rumor. The protectors do, however, match the shorter and wider shape seen in earlier dummy-unit leaks.
