OpenAI Introduces ChatGPT Health With Apple Health Integration
OpenAI launches ChatGPT Health, a new feature focused on private health discussions with Apple Health integration, personalized insights, and strict privacy controls.

OpenAI has unveiled ChatGPT Health, a specialized feature in ChatGPT that focuses on health and wellness discussions. This addition gives users a tailored environment to address medical queries, distinct from routine conversations, promoting both privacy and relevance.
A Dedicated Space for Health Questions
ChatGPT Health aims to make health related conversations more distinct from general interactions. OpenAI believes that this separation minimizes confusion and boosts privacy when tackling sensitive health topics. If users initiate medical inquiries in the main ChatGPT area, they will be prompted to move those conversations to the dedicated Health section, where stricter privacy measures are applied.
Apple Health and Fitness Data Integration
The new service can connect with popular health and fitness platforms, including Apple Health. Once synchronized, ChatGPT can use data such as activity levels, movement habits, and sleep patterns to tailor responses. This allows users to ask questions with specific context, shifting from generic advice to more personalized insights.
Medical Records Without Medical Advice
In supported regions, ChatGPT Health can link to medical records, enabling users to seek clarification on lab results or past medical reports in clear, simple language. OpenAI emphasizes that ChatGPT Health does not provide diagnoses or treatment advice. Instead, it serves as a tool for understanding and preparation and works alongside professional healthcare guidance rather than replacing it.
Privacy, Availability, and What’s Next
According to OpenAI, ChatGPT Health is built with enhanced security and layered encryption. Health data remains isolated and is not used to train broader ChatGPT models. At launch, access is limited to users on Free, Go, Plus, and Pro plans outside the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the UK, with some features currently available only in the United States. Wider access on web and iOS is expected in the near future.
This move by OpenAI into personal health highlights its effort to combine user specific features with strong privacy protections while clearly defining the limits of the tool.
