The game combines great graphics with solid guns and smooth gameplay. While there isn’t a solo campaign for fans of storylines, the multiplayer modes more than make up for it.
As a treat to the older fans of the franchise, the multiplayer maps include the famous maps from Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Are modes such as Team Deathmatch and Sniper vs. Sniper not for you? You can jump right into the 100-player Battle Royale mode.
The gameplay is frantic, with you competing against the best players worldwide. This game requires pinpoint precision and skill.
Like any other freemium game, you must deal with many microtransactions. This is especially annoying when you face players with the best skins and guns in matches who are nearly unbeatable.

2. Warface GO – Best multiplayer FPS for beginners
While Call of Duty Mobile and PUBG Mobile have had a bit of a duopoly to multiplayer FPS mobile games, I think you should give Warface GO a chance. While it isn’t as polished as the aforementioned games, when it comes to pure gameplay, Warface GO brings it home!
The game is set in the modern era. So, you won’t find old MP40s from the World Wars or a futuristic weapon that looks like it belongs to Halo’s Master Chief. The game’s load-outs are customizable, and the guns you use are available to militaries today.
More importantly, the controls are easy and intuitive. You don’t have to go through a steep learning curve, even if you’re a beginner.
There are various game modes, such as Team Deathmatch, Control, and Plant the Bomb. For the PvP battles, you can access any of the seven highly detailed maps. Additionally, there are mini-events in the matches, which change daily.
There are over 200 weapons and equipment for military enthusiasts, all of which can be customized to your liking. Don’t like the way your character looks? Choose from 15 unique skins that can alter the appearance drastically.
The game’s graphics aren’t up to current gaming standards, however. So, if you’re looking for a game with amazing visual fidelity, this isn’t it.

3. Modern Combat 5 – Great story, better multiplayer
Modern Combat 5 is the latest entry in Gameloft’s shooter franchise. As expected from developers such as Gameloft, the game improves over the previous iteration and is a good game overall.
If you are a player who likes solo campaigns in FPS games, this is a good FPS for your iPhone. You can play through the campaign mode set in different locales, from Tokyo to Venice. In missions, you must complete various challenges to progress to the next mission.
The multiplayer modes are where this game truly shines. While it isn’t as refined as Call of Duty Mobile or as beginner-friendly as Warface GO, it hits the sweet spot for intermediate players who want a bit of a challenge. I’d recommend you use a controller for this game, though, as it’s one of the best FPS iOS games with controller support.
There are several classes to choose from based on your playstyles, such as Assault, Bounty Hunter, and Kommander. Each of these classes has its special perks and appearance. You can also unlock skills specific to your chosen class by completing objectives and gaining Skill Points.
Unfortunately, the newer updates have created bugs, such as bullet hits not registering and guns firing much slower.

4. PUBG Mobile – Best battle royale FPS
The developers of PUBG Mobile implemented both first-person and third-person shooting into the game. However, I believe the game is best enjoyed from the first-person perspective.
If we’re talking about games that completely changed the mobile gaming landscape, PUBG Mobile has to be on the list. The invention of the Battle Royale match type alone was a stroke of genius. While other games have implemented Battle Royale modes into their gameplay, none have done it as well as the original.
With each passing update, the game gets better in gameplay and content. From different Seasons to immaculate rewards, guns, skins, and maps, the game has added so much content that it could take hours for a person to go through it all.
While you can play the fun Battle Royale mode by pairing up with different players against tens of others, you can also try the 10-minute matches rife with intensity. How you play the game and which mode you play will be completely up to you. The objective isn’t for the most kills here; it is to survive.
My gripe with the game is that there are an abundance of hackers. The developers should tighten their security patches to keep the gameplay fair and enjoyable.

5. Battle Prime: Epic Modern FPS – Best visuals in FPS
Most free iPhone FPS games tend to compromise the graphics to focus on the gameplay. What if I present you with a game with solid gameplay that looks absolutely gorgeous?
Battle Prime is that game. It provides you with graphics you’d normally find in consoles and gives you unique gameplay.
You play the game as a Prime – an avatar with abilities. Each Prime looks and plays differently, thanks to skills and strengths that are specific to it. For example, you could choose a Prime that favors strength over speed to crush your foes.
You could also choose an exceptionally fast Prime to destroy your enemies without them even knowing how it happened.
This gameplay gives you plenty of freedom. You could switch between Primes mid-game and force the enemy on the backfoot as they have to rethink their strategy. The matches are 6v6, and the gameplay can get chaotic. It’s never out of control or comprehension.
What I didn’t like about the game was the spawn system. In this game, spawning happens at unfavorable locations in a match.

6. DEAD TRIGGER 2 – Post-apocalyptic FPS
I’m sure a few of us are slightly tired of the post-apocalyptic or zombie trope used in games. While the trope has been overused, a few games have done it well. Dead Trigger 2 is one of those games.
The first thing that you notice when you start the game is beautiful visuals. The developers have worked hard to make the atmosphere feel post-apocalyptic and succeeded.
Since this is mostly a single-player game featuring zombies, you’d need a good story and intense gameplay to hook you. Thankfully, the game has both. You can build your Hideout from scratch and employ the help of people like the Gunsmith and Medic.
There are 10 regions in the game, and you unlock them as you play through the game. Each battlefield present in the game requires a different approach. There’s no one-size-fits-all strategy to implement here. This helps keep the gameplay fresh.
There are over 600 war scenarios to play as well. The stories being told in this game are intense. You will need to strategize and play differently to complete them.
This game is difficult, however. It isn’t friendly for beginners. So, if you haven’t played the first Dead Trigger, you’ll have to deal with the difficulty spikes.

7. Shadowgun Legends – Great customization options
As a gamer, I lean more towards games that provide a fantastic story than multiplayer modes. So, when I first played Shadowgun Legends, I was pleasantly surprised.
Of course, the game looks and plays great. However, what caught my eye was its story. I hadn’t played a mobile FPS game with an extensive story campaign. The game features over 200 missions, taking place on four unique planets.
This game’s story definitely kept me hooked. What worked even better was the level of customization for players. You can customize your character by choosing from over 600 different weapons. There are 1000 armor pieces to choose from to customize the look and feel of your character.
The customization options aren’t just for show, either. The armor and weapons you don will be based on your playstyle. Do you like to wear heavy armor and gun down enemies with an LMG? Or would you like to be fast and use submachine guns to take them down at close range? The choice is yours.
The multiplayer mode of this game isn’t good, though. Plenty of content is locked behind paywalls.

8. Modern Strike Online – Best tactical FPS
On the App Store, many FPS games require you to complete objectives by mindlessly blasting through enemies. If you’re in the mood for something more strategic, Modern Strike Online is worth the shot.
When I first played Modern Strike Online, it reminded me of the older Rainbow Six games. While you could play the game solo, it was more fun when paired up with other players. You had to coordinate each attack with your partners and watch each others’ backs.
This is exactly how it feels to play Modern Strike Online. While there’s no solo campaign, you can enjoy employing your tactical and genius strategies against other players in PvP mode. There are over 11 maps, each with different scenarios requiring unique pull-through tactics.
Moreover, you’re given 70 unique customization options to decide how you’ll approach the mission. Want to be on point and blast through opponents with a shotgun? Or would you like to hang back and headshot your enemies with a sniper rifle? It’s completely up to you.
However, the number of microtransactions in this game can be overwhelming. If you’re looking for a completely free FPS experience, avoid this one.

9. Guns of Boom – FPS for casual players
It’s nice to find an FPS game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Guns of Boom is rife with over-the-top action and a stylish aesthetic that’s easy on the eyes.
The game’s controls are relatively easy to understand, so beginners shouldn’t face too many issues when playing it for the first time. There are also multiple game modes for PvP battles.
What’s more? You can create and customize your avatar. Customization plays a huge part in how you play, as it includes perks and equipment. So, you should know how you like to play when making your character.
There are frequent updates regarding content, challenges, and rewards. This helps to keep the game fresh even after months of gameplay.
However, one of the game’s biggest issues is the online matchmaking for ranked matches. The servers often match you with experienced players with the best equipment. For a casual player, it might be daunting.

10. World War Heroes: WW2 FPS PVP – Best world war-themed FPS
The first FPS game I had ever played was the first installment of the Call of Duty franchise. I simply loved the World War II context that shaped the story. Since then, I’m sure many of us have pined for a good World War-themed FPS game for iPhone.
World War Heroes helps you scratch that itch. The game takes place during World War II, with seven battlefields from the real war. You can choose your side and various military vehicles from countries such as the USA, Germany, and Japan.
The weapons are also accurately represented for the time, with over 57 weapons to choose from. You can snipe with the trusty Kar98k or assault your enemies with an MP44. Apart from this, the usual game modes include Team Deathmatch and Capture The Flag. You can also have a custom game mode where you decide the rules!
There are a few gameplay bugs, though. Players have experienced being randomly kicked out of the match and manual aiming not working properly.
