Apple Sports now available in 12 countries with more leagues! Get real-time scores, schedules, and updates seamlessly across your Apple devices.
Apple’s latest update to its Sports app marks a major advancement, enhancing its utility and reach. By introducing new widgets, expanding league coverage, and launching in eight new countries, the app is solidifying its status as a go-to hub for fans seeking live scores effortlessly.
The standout feature is the introduction of widgets for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, letting users pin live scores and schedules right to their Home Screen. Users can choose between two views: “My Teams,” which showcases scores and upcoming games for your chosen teams, and “League,” which provides updates on every team in a particular competition. Unlimited widget additions and customization options mean you can keep an eye on Premier League matches on your iPhone while simultaneously tracking NBA scores on your Mac.
Apple is also enhancing its Live Activities feature. Previously, this feature only provided real-time scores on your Lock Screen and Apple Watch. Now, with the update, fans can schedule Live Activities in advance, ensuring that updates appear right when the game starts—even if you forget to open the app.
On the international front, Apple Sports is now available in eight additional European countries: Austria, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, and Spain. This increases the app’s presence to 12 countries, adding to its availability in the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Mexico.
To align with this wider launch, the app now includes coverage for more European football leagues, such as the 2. Bundesliga, Ligue 2, Segunda División, Serie B, and Primeira Liga.
Originally launched as a free iPhone app in February 2024, Apple Sports was designed for speed and simplicity. It integrates with Apple News favorites and the TV app and hooks into live games like the MLS Season Pass and Friday Night Baseball for subscribers. Now on version 3.3, the app requires iOS 17.2 or later and is available on the App Store across all supported regions. Through this update, Apple is pitching Sports as a highly customizable, cross-device solution for staying tuned to the action wherever you are.
