1. Force close Snapchat

If many apps are running in the background, it may cause temporary glitches. So, try force-closing the app

  1. Swipe up and hold your Home screen
  2. Find Snapchat in the app drawer → Swipe Snapchat up.

2. Check internet connection

I found that Snapchat was not notifying me as my internet connection was off for a period. To restore your internet connection, do the following:

  • Use an internet speed tester on any browser on your iPhone.  
  • Turn off your cellular data or Wi-Fi, wait for a few seconds and enable it again. 
  • Enable Airplane mode and turn it off after a few minutes.

  1. Launch Snapchat → Tap your profile icon.

  1. Launch Control Center → Tap the active Focus mode twice to disable it.

  1. Launch SettingsFocus.
  2. Select the Focus mode you use.
    I’m using Do Not Disturb.
  3. Tap Apps under Allowed Notifications.

  6. Toggle on Time Sensitive Notifications.

7. Clear Snapchat app cache

Using an app for a long time accumulates much user data, which may cause glitches. So, I suggest clearing cache data every once in a while. 

  1. Open Snapchat → Tap your profile icon → Select the gear icon.
  2. Open Snapchat → Tap your profile icon → Select the gear icon.
  3. Scroll down and tap Clear Data.

  5. Tap Okay to restart the app.

8. Log out and log in again

Conflicting settings in your account could cause snap notifications not to pop up. Therefore, a fresh login can help to remove any underlying problems on Snapchat. Don’t worry! You will not lose your Snap streaks. Note that you must type your login credentials manually instead of using iCloud Keychain. 

  1. Open Snapchat → Tap the gear icon at the top right to enter Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select Log Out → Tap Log Out.

9. Other basic fixes

  • Restart iPhone: Restarting your iPhone removes temporary iOS glitches and lets the apps run smoothly. 
  • Update Snapchat: If the app functions strangely, you may check the App Store and install the available app update. 
  • Delete and reinstall Snapchat: If nothing seems to work, delete the app to remove all corrupted app data and reinstall the app. After that, grant all notification permissions.
