Leaker Sonny Dickson has posted photos of two camera protectors made for Apple’s foldable iPhone, one in silver and one in a very dark blue. He says the pair reflects two of the colors planned for the device.
These are third-party accessories built from supply-chain information, not Apple parts, so treat the finishes as a close match rather than an exact one. Dickson’s accessory and dummy-unit leaks have mostly held up, including his early look at this year’s iPhone 18 Pro colors. The blue here is dark enough to pass for black across a room, in the same territory as iPhone 17 Pro’s Deep Blue.
The protectors wrap the camera plateau, so they also trace its shape: two lenses side by side, a pill-shaped flash, and a LiDAR scanner. That lines up with the dummy units that have been circulating since spring.
Dark blue replaces the white everyone expected
Apple’s foldable has been tied to a short color list since spring. A Macworld supply-chain source described a palette of silver, white, and an indigo shade close to iPhone 17 Pro’s Deep Blue, and Weibo leaker Instant Digital said the phone would ship in two finishes. In June, an image of an alleged white unit spread as the first “confirmed” color.
Dickson’s protectors point somewhere else. Silver survives, but the second color is blue rather than white, or the dark gray floated in February.
Two colors fits a first-generation foldable
iPhone 18 Pro is expected in four finishes this year. A two-color launch is what a new, supply-constrained product usually gets: fewer variants to build, fewer yield problems, and less stock sitting unsold at a price expected to start near $2,000.
When you could actually buy one
Apple has not announced its September event yet. The foldable is expected to be introduced next month alongside iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, though Ming-Chi Kuo expects a gap between the announcement and pre-orders, the way the iPhone X was shown in September 2017 and only went on sale at the end of October. That leaves about a month for the color list to shift again, and Apple has changed finishes late before.
