iPhone 17 Air may launch in a new ultra-light Sky Blue color, matching its sleek, thin design. Here’s what leaks reveal so far.
Apple seems to be planning something fresh and stylish for its upcoming ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air. If recent leaks are accurate, the device will debut in a brand-new Sky Blue color—a shade Apple has never used before in its iPhone lineup.
Every year, Apple picks a unique color to highlight its iPhone lineup. Remember the Sierra Blue on iPhone 13 Pro or the soft pastel finishes on iPhone 15? This time, the iPhone 17 Air could come in a very light blue shade that almost looks white in dim lighting. That’s what popular Weibo leaker Fixed Focus Digital claims.
This rumored Sky Blue isn’t just another variation. It’s being described as lighter than any previous iPhone blue, including the beloved Sierra Blue. Some say it resembles the sky on a bright sunny day—fitting for a device branded as “Air.”
Interestingly, Apple’s newly released M4 MacBook Air also comes in a similar Sky Blue finish. Fixed Focus Digital suggests that Apple may be coordinating its product designs across devices to give off a cohesive, minimalist, and refreshing “Air” vibe.

While Fixed Focus Digital has a mixed reputation when it comes to leaks, they have been right before, most notably with the “iPhone 16e” name, which they revealed ahead of others. However, they’ve missed the mark on other predictions.
Backing this claim is another reliable Apple tipster, Majin Bu, who also mentioned earlier this year that a Sky Blue or “YuangFeng Blue” finish was being tested for the iPhone 17 Air. According to them, this shade is so soft it can be easily mistaken for white in certain lighting conditions.
Majin Bu also noted that Apple had been testing dark purple and green finishes for other iPhone 17 models, but Sky Blue is currently the frontrunner for the ultra-thin Air version.
