Finger Guns are back in Fortnite, thanks to their surprise addition in the October 15 update, the final major content drop for the Fortnite Override season. This dual-wielded weapon originally debuted in the game on April Fools’ Day 2026 to a rather positively stirring reception, making their comeback a notable highlight.

In itself, Finger Guns are not really ‘guns’ that you can equip. Upon selecting the weapon, the game just makes your character gesture his fingers in roughly the form of a gun that fires bullets with a humorous “Pew! Pew!” sound, as the same thing also appears on the screen like comic book text.

In this guide, you can learn how to unlock and then find Finger Guns in Fortnite. Additionally, you can also check out other items in the loot hack pool below.

How to unlock Finger Guns in Fortnite

  1. In Fortnite, navigate to the Override tab.

How to find Finger Guns in Fortnite

Once you have unlocked the Finger Guns loot item, you can find it by opening chests. To boost your chances of finding it via this method, it is recommended to use any of the Loot Hacker sprites available in the game.

In addition, as you gather enough Sprite Dust through sprite extractions or Fortnite Lobby Hacks, make sure to keep upgrading Finger Guns from the aforementioned Loot Hack tab. Doing so will further increase the likelihood of getting this weapon from chests, with almost every successive upgrade—two of these levels unlock higher rarity for Finger Guns instead of a better spawn rate.

Given below is how the Finger Guns spawn rate changes at each of its five upgrade levels.

  • Upgrade 1: 5% drop rate when opening a chest
  • Upgrade 2: Epic rarity as the highest possible tier
  • Upgrade 3: 8% drop rate when opening a chest
  • Upgrade 4: 10% drop rate when opening a chest
  • Upgrade 5: Legendary rarity as the highest possible tier

Final thoughts

While they may seem hilarious on the surface, Finger Guns are no joke when it comes to dealing damage and a reasonable rate of fire. Hence, it would be a good decision if this item is one of the first things that you unlock and max out using Sprite Dust. It’s also worth remembering that even if you have already unlocked or upgraded an item, you can always undo that decision and re-allocate the spent Sprite Dust per your whim.

Finger Guns, in the current Loot Hack pool of Fortnite, are perhaps only second to the Thorne’s Vampiric Blade, which is a highly powerful melee weapon. So, according to your playstyle, you should upgrade one or the other as a priority.

It will be interesting to see which of these two emerges as the more popular item in the Fortnite community, as more players get accustomed to them. In any case, once you have both items maxed out, you will more or less be well-prepared for both close-range and medium-range face-offs—that’s a given.
