9to5Mac reported on Monday that Apple has scheduled a special event for October 28, with the tagline "Pro and tell." The event starts at 10 a.m. Pacific in Los Angeles. The report doesn’t name a venue or say whether the event will be streamed.
It is Apple’s second event this month
The October 13 Welcome home event in New York introduced the $299 HomeView smart display, the HomePod mini 2, and a new Apple TV 4K. October 28 is the second event in the month.
The tagline is a play on "show and tell." The report doesn’t describe the invitation artwork. Apple’s Greg Joswiak posted a teaser, "Can’t wait to pro and tell next week," according to 9to5Mac.
Bloomberg’s Gurman points to a touchscreen MacBook Pro and a new iPad mini
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has reported that the lineup could include a touchscreen MacBook Pro in 14- and 16-inch sizes. Gurman says it would use OLED displays, have a Dynamic Island for the first time, and be "significantly lighter," with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.
He also reports a revamped iPad mini with an OLED screen, a new speaker system, and a relocated FaceTime camera. Gurman reports that the OLED iPad mini will cost considerably more than today’s $599 model, possibly close to $799. A new iMac and an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M6 chip are also expected to "look like their current versions."
Most of the rumored lineup is Mac and iPad hardware, and Apple hasn’t confirmed any of these products. For the rest of Apple’s 2026 pipeline, see the upcoming Apple products list.
The touchscreen MacBook Pro date is not settled
Gurman has also said on a podcast that the touchscreen MacBook Pro could launch on Friday, November 6. If that date is right, the product would go on sale about nine days after the October 28 event.
The date, time, location, and tagline are the only details 9to5Mac says Apple has confirmed. Treat the product list as rumor until Apple announces it. If you plan to buy an iPad mini soon, the current $599 model is the price to compare against.
