Apple might finally be ready to join the foldable phone race. According to new leaks, the first-ever foldable iPhone—possibly dubbed the “iPhone Fold”—is set to debut in 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 lineup.
And as expected from Apple, it’s going to be pricey. A post on Weibo by trusted leaker Instant Digital claims the foldable iPhone could cost between $2,100 and $2,300, putting it well above the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s $1,899.99 starting price.
What to expect from iPhone Fold
Leaks suggest the device will feature:
- A 5.5-inch outer display
- A 7.8-inch inner screen with a near 4:3 aspect ratio That form factor means it will function more like a compact tablet when unfolded—similar to other foldables, but Apple-style.
One key area where Apple is reportedly going all-in? Fixing the crease.
Samsung, Google, and others have struggled with that distracting inner hinge line. Apple is said to be working on minimizing or eliminating it entirely.
Why now, and why it matters
Ming-Chi Kuo previously said the foldable iPhone would top $2,000. This new leak narrows the estimate but confirms what we already know: it’ll be premium, both in price and execution.
Despite Apple being late to the foldables game, this could work in its favor. With iPadOS already well-tuned for large screens, Apple is uniquely positioned to offer a better software experience than Android rivals.
