Apple’s first foldable iPhone is starting to take shape through new leaks. Reports suggest the device could arrive before or alongside the iPhone 18 series later this year, marking the company’s entry into the foldable phone market.

Apple has not confirmed the product, but newly shared design renders offer a clearer look at what to expect.

Apple is going with a book-style fold, not a flip phone

Renders shared on X by user @MajinBuofficial show a foldable iPhone with a book-style design. The device opens horizontally to reveal a larger inner display, similar to existing foldables focused on multitasking.

This approach differs from flip-style phones that fold vertically into compact shapes. Instead, Apple appears to be prioritizing screen space and productivity.

It may have a 5.5-inch outer screen, 7.8-inch inner display, and a titanium hinge

Earlier predictions from industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo align with the leaked renders. According to Kuo, the foldable iPhone could feature:

    • A 5.5-inch outer display
    • A 7.8-inch inner display when unfolded

    Other expected hardware includes:

    • A titanium alloy hinge designed for durability
    • Dual rear cameras
    • A front-facing camera
    • A Touch ID side button

The device may also use battery technology similar to what is expected in the iPhone 17 lineup.

Pricing could land between $2,000 and $2,500, in line with premium foldables

Kuo has previously estimated the foldable iPhone could be priced between $2,000 and $2,500. This would place it in line with other premium foldable smartphones currently on the market.

Such pricing suggests the device will target early adopters rather than a broad audience at launch.

Launch could happen around the iPhone 18 timeline, but nothing is confirmed yet

Apple has been slower than competitors to enter the foldable category. The company is likely focusing on refining the experience before launching its first model.

If the current leaks are accurate, Apple’s foldable iPhone will follow a familiar book-style design while aiming to deliver a more polished version of existing concepts.

The launch timeline remains uncertain, but more details are expected to surface as the iPhone 18 announcement approaches.
