Tyler, the Creator caps a record-breaking year with Apple Music’s Artist of the Year title and momentum heading into film and Grammy season.
Tyler, the Creator has been awarded Apple Music’s Artist of the Year, closing out a remarkable year on the platform. His 2024 album Chromakopia smashed his previous streaming records for both first-day and first-week plays on Apple Music.
Adding to the excitement, Tyler surprised his fans halfway through the Chromakopia tour with a second album, Don’t Tap the Glass, which rapidly climbed to the top charts in over 55 countries on the service.
From November 2024 to October 2025, Tyler listened to for over 4.5 billion minutes. This achievement marked his all-time high in terms of plays, unique listeners, and total hours streamed on Apple Music.
Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s global creative director, showered praise on Tyler’s artistic daring. He described him as an inspiration to both fans and fellow artists. “His creative risk-taking is only matched by the care he takes to present it,” Lowe commented.
Tyler receives a tangible Apple Music Award as part of this accolade. The award itself features a specially designed Apple silicon wafer, encased in polished glass and anodized aluminum. In response to being named Artist of the Year, Tyler expressed his appreciation: “This year, for my career, was the biggest so far. To be this year’s Apple Music Artist of the Year, it’s sick.”
The outlook for 2026 seems equally promising for Tyler. He is set to make his feature-film debut in Marty Supreme, a period drama featuring Timothee Chalamet and directed by Josh Safdie. Moreover, he has snagged five Grammy nominations across his albums Chromakopia and Don’t Tap the Glass.
