Apple is Planning a Massive Battery Boost for the iPhone 17 Pro Max
As Apple’s next flagship, the iPhone 17 Pro, is set to launch in September this year, a recent leak on Weibo by user Instant Digital suggests the redesigned Pro model will feature a massive 5,000mAh battery, the largest ever in an iPhone.
In the same post, Instant Digital also shared a comparison of iPhone Pro Max battery capacities from the iPhone 11 Pro Max to the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro Max:
This steady increase, particularly the jump from 4,676mAh to 5,000mAh, could lead to a notable improvement in real-world battery life.
According to Apple, the battery life of its current flagship is 33 hours, 4 hours more than the iPhone 14 Pro and 5 hours more than the iPhone 13 Pro. While Instant Digital has a mixed track record, they have accurately leaked several Apple developments in the past, including:
Given this history, their claims about the iPhone 17 Pro Max battery are worth watching.
If Apple indeed pairs a 5,000mAh battery with more power-efficient chips, modems, and a liquid-cooling vapor chamber system, the iPhone 17 Pro Max could set a new standard for smartphone battery life, making it ideal for power users, gamers, and content creators alike.
