As most of the noted tech analysts predict a tough road ahead for iPhone 7, should we completely accept the forecast? Yes, we can’t deny the harsh reality that the smartphone has been on the losing spree for the last two-quarters and any dramatic recovery seems quite challenging. But, there are some strong facts which make us think otherwise.
Without undermining the gloomy forecast or the recent slump in form, there are some interesting aspects which can turn the tide in Apple’s favor. With the remarkable loyalty, massive fan-base, and unmatched popularity, the smartphone has what it takes to go against pre-determined fate.
Strong Reasons Why iPhone 7 Sales Will Make a New Record
Still No Threat to “Numero Uno Status”
Though just launched “Samsung Galaxy Note 7” can easily be termed as the best Android smartphone in the market; considering the extravagant features. However, the Note 7 has failed not even to come close to iPhone 6s in app speed test.
Knowing that iPhone 7 will come with more robust innards, the next-gen iPhone will continue to be the undisputed leader of the high-end segment. It’s this edge that bodes well for Apple’s upcoming flagship smartphone.
In the price segment above $750, the iPhone will continue to hold its lead as the number one brand. There doesn’t seem to be any threat to its numero uno status.
49% of US iPhone Users own an iPhone 5s or Older
Going by several rumors and leaked images, it’s more or less clear that the iPhone 7 won’t be a major upgrade. However, as compared to 5s or older, the next-gen smartphone will look supremely powerful and elegant. The good news is that 49% iPhone users in the US have either iPhone 5s or older models.
Currently, there are over $100 million iPhone users in the US. And if only 25% of them decide to buy a new phone, Apple will be able to sell over 25 million smartphones in its home turf only.
51% Chinese iPhone Users Own iPhone 5s or Older
China – the largest smartphone market in the world– has always been very critical of Apple. iPhone 6 had incredible success in the country. According to the latest data from Kantar Worldpanel, 51% of Chinese iPhone owners own an iPhone 5s or older.
Currently, there are about 131 million iPhone users in China. And, even if the 50% of the existing iPhone users decide to buy a new iPhone, Apple will be able to sell 60 million iPhone 7 in the biggest smartphone market.
More Android Switchers
More Android users are switching to iPhone. If the number continues to increase with the current speed, Apple will have yet another advantage.
“26% of users who bought the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus switched from Android. This number increased from 12% when Apple released the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in 2014. In 2013, 23% of users who bought the iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c switched from Android.” – Market Realist
iPhone 7 Worth Giving a Try
iPhone 7 will have some attractive features like dual camera, Smart Connector, touch-sensitive Home button, 3GB RAM, powerful A10 Processor, iOS 10 and more. Hence, there are a few good reasons why the prospective buyers would find the next-gen iPhone worth giving a shot. Agreed, it may not have a new design, but the much stronger innards can surely change the game.
Considering all the positive aspects, we believe iPhone 7 has a strong chance of overturning the recent decline-much to everyone’s surprise.
Just a look at the massive buzz surrounding the tech universe for the upcoming iPhone makes us believe that the handset will be hugely successful. No wonder some iPhone 7 cases are already showing the sold-out status on Amazon!
