Some iPhone users say that videos are missing from the Videos app after upgrading to iOS 8 (or updating to iOS 8.1). Strange as the issue sounds, iCloud Photo Library appears to be a very possible culprit.
If you recently turned on iCloud Photo Library, that would upload your Videos (and other media like photos) to your iCloud Photo Library account. The videos app shows videos that are on your iPhone and on iCloud. Sometimes, this may not be true. And that causes the videos to go missing.
How to Fix Videos Missing on iPhone After Upgrading to iOS 8.x
Step #1. Launch Settings app
Step #2. Scroll down and tap on Videos
Step #3. Turn on the Show All Videos toggle
Hopefully, after trying this, you will find all the missing videos are shown in the Videos app.
When the Show All Videos toggle is disabled, your iPhone will only show videos that are on the device (and not the ones on iCloud). When you turn on this switch, you are enabling the iPhone to show videos that are on your iCloud too.
In case, you are still not able to see your missing videos, though it might happen, then Reset your Settings.
Step #1. Go to Settings
Step #2. Go to General
Step #3. Scroll down to last and tap on Reset
Step #4. Then tap on Reset All Settings
You will be asked twice for the confirmation. Tap on Reset.
We have suggested you to reset your device because sometimes, missing videos from Video App could have other reasons too. For example: if you have updated to iOS 8.x, then it is possible that some of the videos may not have synced. In that case, a reset could come in handy.
