Verizon to Offer Free Apple Music to Its Customers

The great collaboration between Verizon and Apple has been further strengthened as the mobile carrier is going to expand the value of Beyond Unlimited and Above Unlimited offers by including Apple Music free.

Good news for Verizon subscribers in the United States as the service provider is likely to include Apple Music in its Beyond Unlimited and Above Unlimited plans.

If you are a Verizon customer, you can expect this Apple Music bonus in a couple of days. This offer is for both iOS, and Android users as Apple Music is available for Android also.

Verizon Offers Free Apple Music to iOS and Android Users

For all Verizon customers, this $9.99 subscription comes as a welcome freebie at no additional cost. This is not a free trial offer but an added service on an ongoing basis.

Does this sound too good to believe? Verizon, till date, has rolled out plans, which include free trials of Apple Music that run for six months.

According to 9to5Mac, “Marketing documentation we saw indicated that prices would not change; Beyond Unlimited and Above Unlimited costs $50 and $60 per month, before taxes and fees”.

It is most likely that Verizon may increase the price in future and use Apple Music as ‘bait-and-switch’ selling method. It is also expected that Verizon may discontinue Apple Music in this plan at any time.

Probably, Verizon has been inspired by T-Mobile’s free Netflix offer. T-Mobile subsidizes the price of basic Netflix for customers and offers higher tiers for a discounted rate.

Those who have subscribed to Verizon Beyond Unlimited or Above Unlimited plans, they can use this fully unlocked Apple Music without paying any extra penny.

Signing off

Whether it is a move initiated by Apple or Verizon, the end customers are inevitably going to get some benefit. Apple is facing a tough time in its hardware business as sales of iPhones are dwindling. This can be the reason why the tech giant is exploring opportunities in the services business. Apple’s decision to offer iTunes Video and AirPlay 2 to Samsung Smart TV is seen as a smart move to expand its services business.
