If you're trying to figure out how to make the keypad disappear on your iPhone (when you are done typing a message or some search query), you're not alone.
In some or many of the apps that I use, I constantly keep trying to dismiss the keypad on my iPhone so that I get more screen real estate to view things on the screen. For Messages app, you have to swipe down, for Whatsapp, you just have to tap on the screen and so on and so forth.
What if one simple Cydia tweak could make all this as easy as tapping on the return key?
That's what ReturnDismiss does.
ReturnDismiss is a simple, utilitarian tweak that does nothing more: tap on the Return key once you are done typing and the keypad is dismissed.
If you're wondering why the tweak would turn out to be so helpful, as users who keep looking for ways to dismiss the keypad because it is hiding content behind it. On websites, on messages, on apps etc. where the keypad stays longer than needed and hides content, ReturnDismiss can turn out to be a boon to have.
ReturnDismiss is a no-frills tweak. No settings to configure, no options to change. It just installs and the function kicks in whenever the keypad has a return key.
Arguably, this feature can get a little annoying if you are prone to tap on return to send, search etc. But I think you can get used to tapping the on-screen Send button instead of tapping on the return key.
Although there are other tweaks that perform a similar operation, ReturnDismiss is the most spartan tweak I've seen.
ReturnDismiss is available for free on Cydia's BigBoss repo.
