In its recent release of two different reports, DigiTimes claims that Apple is planning to launch new iPads and AirPods 2 in the first half of 2019. This is the first big announcement from the Chinese reports after the end of the Lunar New Year holiday week.
The media also claims that TSMC will be the exclusive producer of Apple’s A-series chips. The manufacturer will bring A13 in 2019 iPhones, which will be produced using a 7-nanometer process.
Apple May Launch New iPads and AirPods 2 by Mid 2019
Earlier, DigiTimes predicted that Apple would redesign its AirPods with more health-centric features. According to a report from MySmartPrice, AirPods 2 will look identical to AirPods. Moreover, AirPods will have a new grippier coating and will be available in black and white colors.
About the manufacturers, DigiTimes says TSMC is set to be the sole maker of Apple-designed processors that are installed in iOS devices. A year ago, Apple was the first manufacturer to boast about 7-nanometer chipsets with A12.
As per DigiTimes, the A13 chip will continue to be made on a 7-nanometer process in 2019. In the second quarter, volume production will be shooting up.
For the first time, TSMC may adopt extreme ultraviolet lithography for its A13 chip production. It has been noticed that TSMC always begins volume production in the second quarter for a fall iPhone debut.
According to the reports, MacBook shipments are likely to go down marginally in 2019 as compared to 2018. However, there would be an increase in total units for AirPods and Apple Watch.
Though DigiTimes is a reliable source, Apple always surprises its users with something unexpected. There has been a lot of rumors and discussions about Apple AirPods 2 in social media. Before customers lose their patience, Apple needs to launch this product.
