Finding new friends online is always a cool experience. There are tons of apps – built for the iPhone and other smartphones – that target this particular thing.
Minus is one such app built specifically for the iPhone that aims to connect you with people around you and around the world. The concept may be quite old, but it’s the way Minus implements it that makes the app worth trying out and actually using. Although Minus still doesn’t have a large user-base, you’ll be surprised to see how many new people you can actually find through the app!
A Simplified and a Great Interface
One of the best things about iOS apps is that they’re usually designed well, in comparison to their Android counterparts. Minus has a really inviting interface that’s subtly playful with a dab of colors and pictures. Getting started with Minus is as easy as a cinch if you link it to your Facebook account.
The app seems to be designed to get you started almost instantly – so you find people wherever you want to find them. The map overlaid atop the screen is a really cool idea: I mean, it’s a really fantastic thing to be able to drag around the map to find people from that part of the world.
Finding New Friends Is Easy & Fun
Minus isn’t largely about getting other friends to join (although you can invite friends) or reaching out to the phone contacts to figure out who you can add as a friend (although, again, you can do this too).
Minus focuses largely on connecting with people who’re on Minus already. Location and people are the keys that drive the concept and at the risk of repeating myself, I think that Minus makes it really and totally easy to connect with new friends instantly.
It’s All Chat & Photos
Predominantly, Minus is about chatting with people you find online. Then there are of course things like photos and favorites (that works like Facebook’s ‘subscribe’). With the chat feature, Minus does a great job what with interesting emojis that are more than the normal Whatsapp-like ones.
Best of all, it’s free. Minus has nothing to turn you away actually. It’s a free app built for the iPhone (I hope an iPad version is coming too). The app doesn’t annoy the users with ads. There’s absolutely nothing that can tarnish the experience on Minus.
Minus is a cool app and if you’re a social guy/gal, you’ll find Minus to be a great community to venture into. And find new friends for life.
