When I Lost My iPhone in a Dark Room…!!!

Wake Siri with the 'Hey Siri' voice command, even when the iPhone is upside down. With this simple hack, you will be able to find your iPhone even in a dark room by simply saying 'Hey Siri, Turn On The Flashlight.'

Now, how many of us hate power cuts and electrical failures? Well, everyone! But what’s worse is, when you lose your iPhone during one such occasion and are not able to get your hands on it. Trust me, it is actually very annoying, especially when you are all alone.

Well recently something like that happened to me and being the ultimate tech lover, I was a fish without water. I tried searching for my iPhone in a dark room and struggled hard to wake ‘Siri’ but in vain. When the power resumed, I frantically searched for my iPhone and found out that was upside down, which is why the ‘Hey Siri’ didn’t work. But to save you people from this trouble, I have come up with a solution to this problem. So let’s jump right into it…

First things first, let me tell you why does this happen. When your iPhone is facing down, ‘Hey Siri’ will stop working along with screen notifications ( your screen will not light-up for incoming notifications). Well, Apple introduced this face-down feature to avoid distractions and battery drainage. Which is actually really helpful, but in some scenarios, it can be quite tortuous.

Find Lost iPhone in a Dark Room Even When It is Upside Down

To wake Siri when the iPhone is upside down, we need to disable the face-down feature on the iPhone. Follow these simple steps to get the job done.

Step #1. Launch the Settings app on your iPhone.

Step #2. Scroll down, tap on Privacy.

Note: By disabling the Fitness Tracking you would not be able to enjoy a few features like body motion, step count, stairs climbed and other features of the Health App.

And that’s it. It’s as simple as that.

It’s better to be safe than sorry, so you must ensure that the ‘Hey Siri’ setting is enabled in the Siri Setting on your iPhone. To cross-check that you must follow the below-given steps.

Step #1. Launch the Settings app on your iPhone.

Step #2. Next, tap on Siri and Search.
