Apple iPhone XR proved itself brilliant in every way, indeed for the US Smartphone maker. The recent Kantar World Panel report on Q2 2019 Sales of Smartphone Markets announced iPhone XR as the top-selling model.
It says three Apple iPhones (Models: iPhone XR, iPhone 8 and iPhone XS Max) followed by Samsung’s Galaxy S10 Plus and Galaxy S10, make it in top five bestseller list. Notably, “Apple iPhone XR was able to garner 7.8% of the total US Smartphone market share in that quarter.”

iPhone XR was popular, and along with the US region, this Apple model was a hit in Europe too, while leading in the UK markets. Interestingly, Apple and Samsung both faced a downslide in sales, whereas Motorola and Google continued their small upward march in US markets.
As regards China Smartphone markets, Kantar informs that Apple stood third with 19.7% market share behind, Huawei and Glory (both capturing 46.1%).
Kantar report also notes significant gains for Motorola through its popular Motorola E5 Play and G6 Plus powered by active distribution channels. Verizon, Metro, and Wal-Mart helped boost sales for Motorola in the US markets, it said.
Android OS Smartphones Rule Across European Markets With 80.1% Share
On the Android OS front, Quarter ending June 2019, Android OS accounted for 80.1% of all smartphone sales across the five major European markets (EU5). It witnessed positive year-on-year growth (+0.6%pts), with France recording good figures.
On the other hand, the report says iOS share fell slightly in EU5 (-0.8%pts), and further down (-2.4%pts) in the USA. Kantar data spells ‘potential danger’ for Huawei despite growing of Android OS’s market share.
Apple 2019 iPhones to Help Make Increase its Market Share
In the race for continued marketplace leadership for the final two quarters, Apple, with its top-selling iPhones and new launches, is expected to lead the way through 2019. New iPhone 11 (with added features), iPhone 11 Max and iPhone 11R will all possibly help it ramp more sales and market share too.
