iPhone X Design and Display

The iPhone X sports glass both on the front and the back; with the stainless steel frame around the sides.

The smartphone has the highest pixel density (458ppi) display ever on an iPhone, with Apple terming it a Super Retina display.

The iPhone measures 5.8 inches diagonally and boasts a resolution of 2436 x 1125. It is the first OLED display in an iPhone. Besides, it also comes with True Tone display technology.

HDR in both Dolby Vision and HDR. Million-to-one contrast ratio. And yes, there's no home button. Hence, you need to just tap on the screen to wake up the iPhone X.

To go to the home screen on iPhone X, you have to swipe up from the bottom. This same cool gesture also works for seamlessly for multitasking.

The side button is now larger. You just need to press and hold to talk to Siri.

Ultra-Advanced Face ID

The biggest highlight of iPhone X is the superior Face ID. The best thing about the facial recognition technology is that it works even if you change your hairstyle, wear a hat, wears glasses.

Even better, it is designed to adapt to you. For instance, if your face changes over time or you grow a beard, it will still work. Besides, it works day and night. Best of all, it won’t be spoofed by photos.

The Face ID also works with Apple Pay. You can just look at the phone to unlock and then point at the reader. Moreover, it also works with apps that support Apple Pay.

You need to double click the side button while looking at the phone to pay using Apple Pay.

There is TrueDepth camera system at the top of the display. IR camera, floor illuminator, dot projector are included in the front camera section.

When you look the iPhone, it projects 30k invisible IR dots, the camera instantly checks that pattern against the stored image. The flood illuminator beams a light at your face to ensure it's easily recognized even in the dark.

Neural engine with dual-core, 600bn operations per second is what enables the Face ID recognition to get the job done immaculately.

Apple has said Face ID is more secure than Touch ID. The tech giant has claimed that there is just 1 in 1,000,000 chance of another person being able to look at your phone and unlock it through Face ID.

iPhone X Camera

iPhone X comes with 12MP dual cameras. Powered by dual OIS (optical image stabilization) on both lenses, it's able to capture stunning shots.

The sensors are designed to be larger and faster than previous generations, While the main camera boasts of an f/1.8 aperture, the telephoto lens comes with f/2.4 aperture.

In between the two cameras, there is a quad-LED True Tone flash which offers scene illumination.

The device also offers 4K video recording and more powerful stereo speakers for better audio playback. What's more, you can also snap selfies in portrait mode.

A11 Bionic Processor

The iPhone X comes with A11 Bionic processor. It includes two performance cores, four high-efficiency cores, and the first Apple-designed GPU.

With the use of high-energy and high-efficiency cores, A11 Bionic system-on-a-chip balances power consumption with performance.

The high-energy cores are equipped to handle tasks like playing games more efficiently. They are 25% faster than the A10 Fusion cores.

The high-efficiency cores are excellent in managing tasks like web browsing. They are said to be 75% faster than previous cores. The A11 Bionic 600 billion is claimed to deliver operations per second.

iPhone X Battery Life

The smartphone delivers two more hours of battery life than the iPhone 7. It is decent for normal use.

Wireless Charging

Wireless charging finally comes on iPhone. Apple is making a charging mat called AirPower. It also supports the iPhone, Series 3 Watch, and AirPods with optional new wireless charging case. AirPower charger will come next year.

iPhone X Color Options

X will come in only two colors: space gray and silver.

iPhone X Price and Release Date

The iPhone X is priced at $999 for 64GB of storage, while the 256 GB variant will come at $1,149.

Preorders will start on October 27th, while the shipping will begin on November 3rd.
