Apple finally unveiled a smaller iPhone SE at an event held on 21st March 2016. It was very well expected the new phone will be smaller in size and in addition, it will be budget friendly. Since few months, Apple had shown a keen interest in the emerging markets like India because of the rising demand.
The intentions of the company were clearly noticed when Apple immediately made a Press Release after the event ended to the Indian media, that the new iPhone SE will be available in the country by mid of April. The price of the device will start at Rs. 39,000/-, which is quite a wallet friendly for the Indian consumer.
iPhone SE Price and Release Date in India
It is certainly a great deal at that price tag, simply because the iPhone SE is quite similar to the Apple’s flagship device iPhone 6s.
Apart from the screen size and 3D Touch, there isn’t much of a difference between the two. Even the chip and performance are exactly similar of both of them.
There’s no denying that iPhone SE will be heartily welcomed by the Indian audiences as their first iPhone.
We can also expect a lot of users migrating from their current devices just to experience the iOS. Of course, there would be a lot of taxes to be incurred by the company, but even then, the prices are very well justified.
Personally, this is a great step undertaken by Apple to increase its sales as well as market share. Apple did not get the desired response from Indian audiences when they launched iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, reason was simple, price.
